Context of the position

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to take the lead of our Instances Site Reliability Engineering team. The team ensures we can reliably serve virtual machines for users around the world: setting-up observability, troubleshooting issues, managing hypervisors lifecycle and orchestrating software deployments. Your main mission will be to guide the way: organising on-call and technical activities, taking part to them and helping develop your team. What you'll be doing ·Hire, manage and develop a team of 5 system/software engineers Be the Instances Site Reliability Engineering front-man within the companyContinuously prepare, prioritise, dispatch and follow-up team activity (backlog grooming, on-call planning) Ensure the team's workload is balanced between production issues mitigation and troubleshooting, hypervisors lifecycle management, tools/monitoring/processes implementation and software architecture improvement. Estimate workload and project timelinesCoordinate the team, ease collaboration with other engineering teams or business units, remove impediments encountered by engineers and secure their daily jobManage demonstrations of the latest deliveries to stakeholders and gather feedback, provide executive summary reports to higher management levelsDefine team members quarterly objectives, evaluate their performance and provide a continuous feedback Manage team members career path, salary and compensation. Help them grow their knowledge and skillsWork with your team to define and develop an inclusive team culture that fosters individual growth and team successEnsure major software deployments and hypervisors migrations in production, are scheduled and orchestrated by the right engineer in the team Support your team taking (non-blocking) on-call responsibilities, mitigate issues encountered in production and secure the best real-time answer to our customersWork closely with product managers to set-up the metrics that will drive technical and business observability upon our virtualisation platform and its usageTeam-up with team members to break down major technical initiatives and set-up development plansPerform tools/processes/technical documentation and code review, ensure delivery meets acceptance criteriaShare, with other engineering teams, high-impact dysfunctions and major architecture limitations identified through virtual instances production usage. Desired profile

What we expect from you 5+ years of system administration experience including significant usage 5+ years of experience building, leading, managing and mentoring high-performance engineering teams
