About Program Mercury
 

Mercury is a large, multi-year, enterprise-wide process transformation that will replace more than 1400 EY business systems and related processes with an integrated, SAP centric platform that will standardize and harmonize activities throughout the organization and significantly improve how EY manages its business. Mercury is a key enabler of EY’s Vision 2020+, directly supporting the efforts of many transformation initiatives across the Firm by streamlining the application portfolio, reducing operating costs and providing a platform to deliver services more efficiently. 

The Mercury solution is built upon the very latest of technologies (Portal, Mobile, SaaS) and a variety of hosting models (Cloud, Vendor and Internal). The SAP footprint is comprehensive, and the non-SAP components are varied. The user base at the final rollout is in excess of 200k.

 
About the Mercury Support Team (MST)
 

As an organization jointly owned by the business and Technology, the MST is a centralized and global organization which provides operational support for the delivered Mercury solution and supports the Mercury user community. The MST plays an integral role in governance of the Mercury solution and the global template from both a business and technology perspective and will evolve to work closely with the business in enabling the benefit and value to be realized from the investment in Program Mercury and to set the future direction and technology road map to support Vision 2020+. 

 

The Technology Workstream is one of the six core functions of the MST. Within the technology stream the service delivery management  function will provide an appropriately resourced and skilled organization that will: 

►    accept the delivered Mercury solution from the Program and provide integrated, seamless functional and technical support 

►    take accountability for the delivered Mercury solution and deliver services, in line with defined service targets, to the Mercury user community

►    act as the single point of contact for vendors delivering support services across the integrated Mercury application landscape

enabling the Program Team to focus on the continued deployment of the global template and ongoing localization requirements.

 
Job Summary
 

The MST Windows Azure Engineer’s primary focus is to be the general expert and coordinator with current and future Mercury infrastructure systems, primarily hosting SAP & 3 rd party SAP tools. The role involves understanding Azure infrastructure technologies, being the resident expert in EY Mercury hosted systems in Azure, while also advancing the buildout and migration of environments in Azure.   The resource would be expected to help lead resolutions regarding Azure environment incidents, and challenges.  The resource would also review configurations and work with leadership on planning and implementing new infrastructure initiatives hosted in EY Azure. 

Purpose of the Job:

The role is to develop capabilities for EY Mercury in Azure and then support the migration and end state management of Azure Mercury infrastructure.  This is done by buildout and migration of environments, proper management of maintenance activities, helping lead new system initiatives, and leading troubleshooting issues, all while adhering to ITIL standards.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for analyzing, buildout and validation of EY Mercury Azure infrastructure.  This would include developing management and maintenance guidelines with the infrastructure.   The following is a list of expected responsibilities:

· 
Become familiar with Mercury infrastructure hosted at vendor, EY and EY Azure sites.

· 
Build and maintain relationships with “hands on” resources for both vendor and EY.

· 
Become resident expert of EY Azure infrastructure which is based on SAP.

· 
Be able to communicate and lead troubleshooting incidents with resources during outages.

· 
Work with vendor and EY resources to continually update infrastructure diagrams and inventories.

·  Host and lead calls as needed.
· 
Review current and upcoming activities that affect Mercury Azure infrastructure and assess impact.

·  Review billing reports and analyze trends.
· 
Lead and/or mentor lower level support resources in activities as necessary.

· 
Build reports for management escalation as requested.

· 
Analyze usage capacities and suggest solutions.

 
Experience and Skills Requirements:

Education:

4 years College minimum in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc..) or comparable job experience

Experience:

3 years of experience in an Operational / Service Management role.

 
Certification Requirements:
 

None, although ITIL Access Management certification would be beneficial
