Profile:

The Experience Design Group (XD) empowers EY Assurance staff and clients by designing intuitive, efficient applications and solutions that simplify and streamline their work. The Group is divided into Strategy, Creative, and Technology disciplines. We works closely with leadership and stakeholders to align with business goals and strategy. We are advocates of user-centered and data-driven design.

 

The Strategy team focuses on the initial phases of the design process, including product strategy and innovation, user research and discovery, metrics, analysis and insights, and conceptual and low-fidelity design.

 

Lead Experience Strategists call upon their applied experience and a rich toolkit of skills and techniques to understand user needs and business context and translate those into innovative conceptual designs. They also collaborate with XD Group leadership to define our strategy and processes, and serve as mentors for the team.

 

The XD team is in an exciting phase of its growth, with an opportunity to heavily influence the future direction of Design across the organization. An essential part of this role will be partnering with XD team leaders and others to define, establish, and promote this new direction. We have support from key leaders and strong partners across the Development organization.      

Essential Functions of the Job:

 

· 
Collaborate with XD team leads, stakeholders, and others to define and implement rational, effective, and efficient design proceisses, methods, and best practices

· 
Serve as senior research and design practicioner, leading activities that span product strategy, user research and discovery, data analysis and insights, conceptual design, information architecture and navigation, and high-level user interface design

· 
Lead design thinking, product strategy, and innovation workshops

· 
Contribute to XD Group planning, strategy, and promotion

· 
Communicate design decisions and rationale with clarity and authority

· 
Ensure timeliness, quality and success of Strategy team deliverables and engagements

· 
Awareness and application of latest best practices, tools and trends

· 
Serve as mentor to other team members

· 
Promote good design and serve as design advocate and ambassador  

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

 

· 
Minimum of 5-7 years applied experience in user-centered design for complex products or services. Portfolio to demonstrate relevant experience required.

· 
Applied experience and working proficiency in at least one area of user research or discovery. Example relevant experience includes usability testing (remote and in-person), survey design, ethnography, metrics, personas, and journey maps.

· 
Highly skilled in information architecture, mental models, and conceptual design

· 
Ability to translate conceptual design into low-fidelity UI wireframes and prototypes

· 
Experience designing and delivering innovative solutions for complex systems and domains

· 
Familiarity with latest design tools such as Axure, Invision, Mural and Sketch

· 
Experience applying design best practices, standards, and processes

· 
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and teaming skills

· 
Organized and detail-oriented

· 
Demonstrated expertise in written and verbal communication

· 
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience

Other Requirements:

· 
Enterprise product strategy and design

· 
Experience collaborating with peers in design teams

·  Preference given to candidates with both strong research and conceptual design skills
·  Experience working with Agile product development process
·  Experience in financial sector
