The Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) team of Ernst & Young Capital Advisors, LLC is seeking an investment banking associate to join the team in New York, NY. The position offers an outstanding career opportunity in investment banking with a highly successful team specializing in capital advisory, capital raising and restructuring services.

Within Ernst & Young Capital Advisors, the DCM team provides its corporate clients with unbiased capital markets and capital structure advice across a broad range of debt financing transactions, such as acquisitions, refinancings, recapitalizations and restructurings. DCM provides both public and private clients world class capital advisory, capital raising and capital restructuring services with international execution capabilities.

The DCM team has deep experience throughout each layer of the capital structure including first and second lien loans (pro rata and institutional), bonds, private placements, convertible bonds, preferred equity and common equity. Since its founding, DCM has advised on over $50 billion in financing transactions as an independent advisor.

Responsibilities:

The Associate serves as a key member of the deal team, typically working with a Managing Director, a Vice President and an Analyst. The Associate will participate in all aspects of originating, structuring and executing financing transactions. Additionally, the Associate will be given significant responsibility and will receive direct C-suite client exposure, deal experience and opportunity for advancement. In most assignments, the Associate:

· 
Manages all aspects of execution of investment banking transactions

· 
Prepares complex leveraged finance models to analyze financing alternatives for various transactions

· 
Works with team members to develop and review deal related materials, including marketing materials (CIMs, OMs, lender presentations, rating agencies presentations, etc.) and legal documentation

· 
Prepares pitch books and presentations focused on client, company and industry analysis

· 
Performs business research, comparables analysis, due diligence and covenant / credit analysis

· 
Assists in training, development and oversight of junior team members

· 
Facilitates key processes associated with business activities

Qualified candidates typically possess a combination of the following attributes:

· 
A bachelor's degree with strong undergraduate academic performance

· 
2-4 years of experience in investment banking, investment management and / or corporate finance

· 
A developed understanding of credit, corporate debt products and corporate debt agreements

· 
Prior experience with and advanced working knowledge of financial modeling

· 
Strong finance, math and reasoning skills

· 
Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills

· 
Strong written and verbal communication skills

· 
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

· 
Ability to work a demanding schedule

· 
FINRA Series 63 and 79 a plus but not required
