EY Technology supports our technology needs through three core business units:

· 
Client Technology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY to identify new technology-based opportunities faster and pursue those opportunities more rapidly

· 
Enterprise Technology (ET) - supports our Core Business Services functions and delivers fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the lowest possible cost for quality services. ET also supports our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience

· 
Information Security (InfoSec) - provides security requirements and solutions that are designed to prevent, detect, and respond to events and information risks that may impact EY and client data, and our information management systems
The opportunity


The Technical Writer develops and disseminates technical product and process information through appropriate channels in the organization. The Technical Writer creates technical documentation for the global Information Security Policy, Certification and Compliance team. Writing includes documenting minimum security baselines, compliance processes and procedures, user guides, FAQs, enablement materials, transition managed documentation, knowledge articles, and other similar artifacts. The Technical Writer also participates in user acceptance.

The objective of this position is to deliver clear, concise, up-to-date and timely technical documentation.

 

Your key responsibilities
· 
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, stakeholders and with various teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the process and the documentation requirements

· 
Develop high-quality documentation paying attention to detail

· 
Document complex technical topics and processes into formats useful to laymen

· 
Determine the needs of the technical documentation consumers

· 
Provide thought-leadership on the design and implementation of technical documentation

· 
Evaluate and provide feedback for improvement to document content and processes

· 
Become familiar with technology architecture, design, and implementation requirements

· 
Research, analyze, and apply requirements for new documents

· 
Work with project managers to map out documentation strategies and schedules

· 
Author and maintain high-quality documentation that meets or exceeds the agreed document requirements

· 
Host virtual sessions to discuss documentation lifecycle: development, revision and turnover

· 
Identify and make recommendations for process and tool improvements that increase the efficiency and productivity of technical documentation lifecycles

 
Analytical and decision-making responsibilities

Ability to analyze, organize, structure and prioritize information from multiple sources

Ability to think creatively while accounting for multiple perspectives in any given scenario

· 
Ability to learn quickly and to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

Skills and attributes for success
· 
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures

· 
Good writing, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills

Strong attention to detail with ability to proofread and edit well

· 
Familiarity with SharePoint document repository

· 
Strong English language skills

· 
Experience with coordinating tasks, and following tasks and projects through completion

· 
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)

· 
Ability to design and maintain document templates and document lifecycles

To qualify for the role, you must have
 
Education:
· 
Advanced degree in Technical Communications, Technical Writing, English or related discipline, or equivalent work experience

 
Experience:
· 
Five or more years of relevant experience producing technical documentation, preferably in in Information Security and Compliance

· 
Experience working with common information security standards, such as:

· 
IEC/ISO 27000, NIST, PCI DSS, ITIL, COBIT, SOC2

· 
Experience working in a global virtual environment

· 
Strong English language skills are required – written and verbal

· 
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

· 
Good time management, organizational, and decision-making skills

· 
Good judgment and tact

· 
Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and motives, and ability to work with cross cultural teams

 
Ideally, you’ll also have
· 
General knowledge of Project Management methodology

· 
Experience with MS SharePoint, including development and maintenance of SharePoint sites

· 
Experience with RSA Archer or other GRC systems

· 
Experience with MS Power BI and MS Visio

· 
Understanding of ITIL practices for IT service management
