Job Summary:

In order tostay competitive in a fast-changing environment, EY Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) is hiring a TAS Analyst to work directly with Global TAS and EY Knowledge Leadership to help to understand and react to the shifts in market dynamics, including providing competitor insights. This individual will be responsible for delivering impactful market and competitor analysis and actionable insights in accordance with the priorities agreed by leadership, including:

· 
Thought leadership and globally relevant points of view

· 
Analysis to inform strategic decisions and support for regions, market segments and priority accounts and pursuits

· 
Responsive executive level insights and analysis on existing and emerging competitors, as a part of the TAS global competitive intelligence team

· 
Driving the TAS primary intelligence work-stream; delivering key insights gathered through interviews with both new hires and senior TAS stakeholders

· 
Taking internal intelligence, secondary research inputs, and other external data sources to drive better insights

· 
Supporting TAS CDO in delivering in-organic growth strategy by undertaking market scans, target identification and screening

· 
Building connectivity with other Global teams to promote effective knowledge sharing across functions 

This role requires the ability to combine strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset with real-world perspective driven by an understanding of both clients’ issues and broader marketplace drivers. A collaborative mindset is also crucial, as Analysts have a key role to play in supporting networks within TAS, sharing information across sectors, service lines, accounts and solutions, and using that information to further strengthen the quality of materials produced. The Analyst will also work closely with knowledge specialists in these other domains to deliver on cross-sector / cross-service line topics and initiatives. 

 

The Analysts will work closely with the TAS Knowledge Leader, the TAS Analyst Team Lead, the TAS CI Leader, other analysts and Knowledge Managers to support TAS leadership and other senior stakeholders, in providing thought-provoking content to help EY differentiate itself in the marketplace and proactively helping to identify new business opportunities and risks, whilst ensuring the quality and delivery of research, analysis, market and competitor intelligence and other intellectual capital provided by knowledge team members located throughout the world.

Essential Functions of the Job:
· 
Provides deep analytical insight and understanding of TAS, with responsibility for the execution of strategic initiatives based on a detailed knowledge of TAS dynamics and drivers.

· 
Engages with and challenges TAS stakeholders and internal customers to provide commercial and provocative perspectives on the issues, challenges and opportunities facing TAS and prepares insightful analysis on the impact of those trends for EY and its clients.

· 
Develops and co-creates insights beyond publicly available information by interacting with Knowledge colleagues, account teams, service line colleagues and clients to incorporate proprietary knowledge and, where possible, develop proprietary data sets to evidence a differentiated point of view.

· 
Ensures an outcome-focused approach to creating and activating external thought leadership by championing the content strategy and using the six-step process and content business case (editorial brief).

· 
Develops a credible internal brand to become recognized within EY as a subject matter expert to the business. May participate in client meetings, roundtables and other external events/conferences to strengthen EY’s presence and reputation in the market.

· 
Fully adopts common EY Knowledge methodologies (e.g. SOLVED) and templates (e.g. new Better Expression templates) across all products to ensure deliverables adhere to quality standards and exemplify a digital-first approach to data visualization and product delivery.

· 
Collaborates with Knowledge colleagues to proactively alert stakeholders regarding changes among key clients and competitors, and assesses the impact of those changes on internal strategies and plans.

· 
Drives greater connectivity within TAS and across other parts of EY by using strong relationships to share information and convene groups around a common issue.

· 
Takes a proactive approach to identifying materials, credentials and other information, particularly from key engagements that are relevant within and across domains, and sharing that information in appropriate formats with teams and communities (e.g. accounts, solutions, sub-service lines).

· 
Identifies cross-sector Point of View (POV) sharing opportunities and collaborates with other domain teams on issues that cut across EY’s business activities.

· 
Consults with the Analyst Team Lead to agree a solution where requests for support fall outside the normal remit

· 
Acts as a role model within EY Knowledge and TAS championing the use of EY Knowledge methodologies and positively influencing change by: leading by example; championing knowledge-sharing behaviors; connecting people; encouraging enterprise-wide sharing; and appropriately leveraging and reusing existing collateral.

Able to bring together a variety of perspectives and sources across TAS to deliver compelling analysis that supports business priorities.

Confident in understanding multiple business drivers and talented at defining the root causes of trends.

Skilled in identifying issues and trends that translate into key market-facing initiatives and opportunities for EY.

Demonstrates ability to use both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methodologies, including financial analysis skills, to synthesize information, review data inputs and provide analytic insights

Ability to synthesize and analyze information coherently and succinctly using the full suite of data analytics and visualization programs, platforms and tools as appropriate.

· 
Adept at implementing strategically sound analytical methodologies and skilled in coaching less-experienced team members to improve their skills in research, analysis, data analytics and visualization.

· 
Understands the firm’s go-to-market strategy and service delivery models, how core business services support the service lines, and how knowledge enables exceptional client service and high performing teams.

Understands EY Vision 2020 and Knowledge Transformation, and ensures key knowledge research and insight strategies are aligned to them 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Credible experience working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment

· 
Strong knowledge and demonstrated understanding of the issues, trends and drivers within TAS

· 
Collaborative and able to work well both as part of a team and independently in a global, multi-cultural and virtual environment

Effective executive-level presentation skills; demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of TAS and EY leadership, as well as clients at a senior level

·

· 
Succinct and structured oral and written communications skills with proven ability to explain complex concepts in a crisp, clear, concise and graphic-rich style, using appropriate analytics and visualization tools.

Supervision Responsibilities:

·  Limited direct supervision responsibility but must help to cultivate a high-performance teaming environment with analysts in a global, multi-cultural and virtual environment

May serve as counselor or manager for other analysts and specialists

Job Requirements:
 
Education:
·  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
·  Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification an advantage  
Experience:
· 
5+ years’ experience in strategy, business analysis, industry research, management consulting or business performance, advising organizations in TAS
