This is a role within the Global Planning Operations (GPO) team. GPO supports EY’s global strategy through advising and enabling our business while supporting our firm’s primary planning needs and empowering our stakeholders to best serve our clients with leading practices and tools.

The opportunity

This role is for a person with 5+ years of financial reporting and analysis experience, as well as experience in managing a team.
This person will provide critical decision support to the Global Finance leadership team, helping them understand results and providing new insights and information. There will be a fair amount of flexibility and room for creativity in helping design new analysis, metrics, and insights that will be directly visible to senior leaders in the firm.  

The person in this role will be working in team responsible for analysing and communicating financial information related to plan/ forecast, as well as for other ad-hoc projects for executive leaders. On a day-to-day basis this person will be responsible for assigning tasks, managing work flow, monitoring the quality of work, dealing with employee problems, and keeping the middle managers and executive managers informed of risks and issues.
A person in this role will be expected to help drive improvements and automation to ensure that the the team is taking advantage of new tools and solutions. This position may also support the design, implementation, and ongoing development of firm wide annual financial planning processes, with the opportunity to make large scale impacts at a Global organization.

Your key responsibilities

• Analyse, investigate, and communicate financial information in plan/ forecast/ monthly financial results
• Address issues and answer questions to help business understand financial information
• Help create new methods of analysis, visualization, and presentation for sharing key information with leaders that will directly influence critical business decisions
• Work with the business to understand their information needs and help translate into technical reporting requirements
• Design, develop, test and implement reports/analysis that utilize the underlying data within the firm data warehouse(s)
• Provide requirements for development/ changes of databases to improve reporting
• Communicate within GPO team on progress of assigned work to ensure timely delivery of reports/ projects and resolution of open issues
• Prioritize and delegate tasks, provide guidance and manage workload for reporting specialists
• Mentor and train individuals to master tasks of increasing complexity
• Work with a Global team, with most direct reports sitting in the European time zone
• Create and implement best practices for process improvement

 

Skills and attributes for success


• 5+ years of financial related experience with a focus on financial reporting and analysis, financial planning
• Strong analytical, insights and visualisation skills
• Supervising experience
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Effective multitasking, prioritization skills, and delegation 
• Strong teaming abilities, including effective virtual teaming
• Ability to work independently and across multiple time zones
• Excellent presentation skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word
• Knowledge and experience in SQL, Smart View, and Report builder applications will be an asset
• Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent experience preferred
