Ourindirect tax technology practice works with clients to help improve the operational aspects of indirect tax/VAT compliance through the use of technology.  Through a combination of strong technical knowledge, a deep understanding of key industry issues and the use of technology tools and methodologies we deliver cutting edge technology solutions to our clients helping them improve their compliance functions and day to day reporting requirements. 

The opportunity
 
We are looking to grow our successful team by bringing on board an additional Qlikview Developer / analyst who will take a role in designing, building and delivering these technology solutions.  You will play an integral role in developing our solutions and in implementing our Qlikview-based VAT reporting solutions to our clients. This is an innovative and growing area of Tax in a team looking to lead the industry in technology offerings.
·  As a Qlikview developer within our Indirect Tax technology team, you will be responsible for designing, building and implementing technology related tools and technology rich engagements to our clients.
·  Your primary focus will be to design, build and deploy reporting solutions for our clients using Qlikview and other BI and database solutions.
·  You will be working on projects with national clients across all sectors, including our largest blue-chip clients
·  You will be working as part of a multi skilled team of indirect tax professionals and IT developers assisting our clients to better manage indirect taxes through technology tools and data.
Your key responsibilities
·  Working closely with the indirect tax specialists in our team, your responsibilities will be to build the tools that are needed, support and maintain these on an ongoing basis.
·  For the most part, this will focus on deploying a Qlikview-based VAT reporting tool to our clients, involving data mapping, development of new functionality, building data models and testing of the final solution.
·  You will also play a role in the understanding of requirements and designing the tools for our clients working closely with other members of the team.
·  You will have opportunity, supported by other members of the team, to attend client meetings to consult on what the client’s need are, documenting and analysing these, helping to innovate solutions.
·  You will work under the support and direction of our lead developer to deliver our Qlikview projects.
·  After initial technical training you will be expected to work independently and manage your time and workload accordingly.
·  The role is based in London but does involve travel around the UK and possibly overseas, depending on projects.
Skills and attributes for success
·  A proven track record of in Qlikview development.
·  Experience of working with complex data and developing data models
·  Confident, flexible and self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills
To qualify for the role you must have
·  Experienced Qlikview developer
·  Our technology tools are end user computer tools, by this we mean that they are primarily built in commercial software applications, not coded from the ground up. Therefore deep skills in the following technologies are required (in order of preference):  
·  Developing standalone QlikView solutions (mandatory)
·  Writing Visual Basic Macros (mandatory)
·  Experience of other visualisation, ETL or database tools (preferable)

Ideally you’ll also have
·  Project management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
·  Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
