Position Summary:

The Product Costing Analyst is responsible CT product cost estimation.  Working with the solution architect, lead product costing specialist and product manager to provide a 3 year product cost estimate aligned with a product roadmap. This information will be used to support the business case and should accurately reflect the cost to build, deploy and run the underlying client technology product.  

 

The role requires strong financial management skills and a working knowledge of product management frameworks and governance. The Product Costing Analyst will act as an expert on product costing and will represent Client Technology on various product governance reviews to ensure CT product cost are accurately reflected.  

 

The Product Costing Analyst will also be responsible for tracking accuracy and quality metrics related to product costing.  This information will be used to ensure that processes and templates improve over time to accurately reflect the true cost of Client Technology products.  They must have expertise recognized and requested by key stakeholders across EY.

Essential Functions of the Job:

· 
Responsible for the product estimation process within Client Technology.  

· 
Create and maintain templates for product managers to use to estimate product cost

· 
Represent Client Technology on various governance and gate review meetings to review CT product cost represented by product managers to ensure consistency and accuracy.

· 
Support the development of the product business case working with the product manager and solution architect

· 
Create and monitor key metrics to compare product estimations to actuals over time

·  Leverage these quality metrics to enhance product costing processes and templates and ensure continual improvement over time.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

· 
Strong financial management and product costing experience

· 
Extensive experience with productmanagement frameworks and governance

· 
Mastery of program/project management methodology, tools and templates, includes program/project planning, schedule development, scope management and cost management

· 
IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in all program/project phases – plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement.

· 
Knowledge and understanding of SharePoint capabilities

· 
Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises

· 
Management skills to manage one or more large, complex programs/projects simultaneously

· 
Strong teamwork skills across matrixed client, supplier and geographically dispersed virtual teams

· 
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

· 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Leader in the use of IT methodologies, processes and standards for financial and product management

 

 

 

Supervision Responsibilities:

 

· 
The Product Costing Analyst is required to work with diverse cross functional, global, and virtual teams and stakeholders

Other Requirements:

National and international travel may be required

 

 

   

Job Requirements:

 

Education:

· 
A degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Experience:

· 
Extensive experience in a corporate IT environment

· 
Extensive experience in project product management

· 
Extensive experience in financial management and product cost estimation

· 
Work experience in a professional services industry preferred
