OPERATIONS CONTROLLER – UK FSO ADVISORY OPERATIONS

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Operational Excellence team in UK FSO Advisory Services on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC). 

 

The opportunity

Working in a team with five other members in a busy and professional atmosphere, the Operational Excellence function is part of the broader Advisory Operations team who work closely together and report into the Operations Director. The Advisory Operations team is responsible for providing business and operational guidance and support to our UK FSO Advisory Leadership team and the entire consultancy team ranging from Graduate to Partner. This role will be based at EY’s main office at Canary Wharf in London. 

 

Detailed tasks include tracking the sales pipeline, ensuring data accuracy in the sales system, ensuring compliance and adherence to internal procedures and controls, and several other operational tasks. It is a key role within the team with room to develop and grow as well as providing opportunities to integrate and liaise with all areas of the business. Practical application combined with the ability to build strong relationships with senior stake holders is key. 

Your key responsibilities

•        Monitoring and reporting on the engagements that record time and expense to the department’s temporary codes, ensuring adherence to internal compliance procedures and that time and expense is converted quickly and accurately

•        Challenging and validating sales data held within the department’s SAP based sales tracking database. This is done by analysing a sales data report and liaising directly with sales teams about their potential opportunities to ensure accuracy.

•        Monitoring controls reports such as Deal Review completion and Pricing Approval and intervening where necessary tominimiserisk.

•        Responsible for assisting with a variety of weekly and monthly MI reports by manipulating data from several systems into Excel. This includes but is not limited to Investment Analysis, Deal Reviews and Sector Pipeline Meeting MI.

•        Liaison with several key stakeholders and senior members of staff to address ad hoc queries, request information, provide support and guidance and to challenge where appropriate 

•        Assisting in various operational activities within the operations team such as confidential room approvals and invoice coding.

•        Assisting with ad hoc projects and reports

•        A self-starter with an ability to work on own initiative; an ability toprioritiseand multitask in a pressurised environment is essential

•        Strong team player with the ability to form networks with staff at all levels. Flexible with regard to both work and responsibilities taken on

•        Ability to push back and understand the wider implications of business decisions
Ability to liaise at senior levels

•        Enthusiastic and confident manner

 

To qualify for the role you must have

•        Relevant experience in a client driven professional environment

•        Numeracy skills are important as the role will involve figure work

•        Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

•        Good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint are essential

•        Good knowledge of Microsoft IT packages with ability to pick up new systems quickly

•        IT literate and general interest in IT

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

•        Experience in a Professional Services environment
