Job Summary:

 

The Data Analytics and Reporting Analyst will work within theOperational Excellence - CSI Analytics team within Optimization Service and will work to help enable teams across ET (Enterprise Technology) to standardize, collect/receive the necessary metrics needed for benchmarking, measuring and trending our progress and successes in meeting or exceeding service management targets.

 

As Data Analytics and Reporting Analyst you'll be responsible for the identification and capture of data points; inspection and cleansing of data; transformation of data into meaningful analysis, statistics, reports and dashboards; analysis and identification of trends and opportunities for improvement; creating valuable insights and recommendations, present findings/observations and providing conclusions/recommendations to key stakeholders to support decision making and continual service improvement.

 

The Data Analytics and Reporting Analyst will be guided by the Data Analytics and Reporting Specialists and Lead, however is expected to be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.

Essential Functions of the Job:

· 
Obtain, document and analyze ET reporting needs and requirements through collaboration with department leaders

· 
Translate reporting needs into production reports and dashboards

· 
Work across functional lines to strive for and ensure consistent data quality

· 
Conduct continuous review of reports and identify opportunities for improvements with the aim of minimizing redundant reporting and development of single source of truth where possible

· 
Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize data utilizing Power BI, Spotfire or Tableau

· 
Automate data preparation and report creation where possible

· 
Development of ad-hoc reports/dashboards as necessary

· 
Provide increased focus on analytics and emphasize on providing valuable insights to drive improvement opportunities

· 
Build understanding of business and operational strategies and identify critical metrics required to support those strategies

· 
Perform analysis and develops recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities

· 
Ability to handle various data sources, using data modeling work to develop reporting capabilities and valuable insights across these data sources is key.

 

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

 

The role requires advanced analytical acumen and solution orientation.  The role possesses critical thinking skills and the ability to understand and manipulate data to provide insightful observations, identify trends and communicate these effectively.  The role is expected to act independently to make timely and informed decisions aligned to the role’s remit or to escalate as appropriate to management or others in IT as needed.   The role’s insight and proposed actions should strive to be strategic, look beyond ‘stop gap’ measures and seek to drive improvements to reporting and analysis practices in a manner that is both effective and supporting the value ET has to the business.

·  Ability to comprehend business needs, convert them into BRD & TRD (Business/Technical requirement document), develop implementation roadmap and execute on time.
·  Experience in working with large datasets, derive insights and present information through visualization and reports.
 
Supervision Responsibilities:
 

This role will have no direct supervision responsibilities.

 

Other Requirements:

 

The role requires working between India/UK timezones to accommodate collaboration within our internal team.

 

Job Requirements:

 
Education:
 

In progress of achieving a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline

 
Experience:
·  Two or more years of college education incomputer science, information technology or a related discipline
·  Demonstrated experience in design, develop and maintain BI reports & dashboards.
·  Background in statistics and business/data modeling
·  Advance Microsoft Excel 2013 skills, VBA Programming skills would be beneficial
·  Hands on experience in using different DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MSQL & Access).
·  Hands-on experience in Power-BI, Tableau and Spotfire.
·  Knowledge on Big Data (Hive, Spark) would be beneficial
·  Knowledge of Python and R would be beneficial
