The People Advisory Services Digital Studio is responsible for leading digital innovation for the People Advisory Services Practice within EY. 

 

As a Center of Excellence for Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa, our team works closely with our client-facing People Advisory Services team, providing advanced technology, analytics and consultancy support to enable large-scale organisation transformation and technology programmes.  We enable business performance through Workforce Planning and Optimisation, Human Capital analytics, Diversity and Inclusion (D&I), Workforce Capability and Culture.

 

The PAS Digital Studio achieves its objectives thorough;

·  Scanning the market for new and innovative technologies to provide a leading digital strategy,
·  Providing a Development Studio, working with clients to develop and provide innovative digital solutions to improve the employee experience, and    
·  Building enterprise technology through dedicated development resources, producing high quality digital solutions for the business and clients.

The opportunity

We are looking to grow our PAS Studio team by hiring an additional Data analyst(s) who will play a crucial role in designing, developing and delivering these technology solutions.  You will play an integral role in driving solutions for a growing collection of key clients through technology.  This is an innovative and growing area of PAS in a team looking to lead the industry.

·  As a data analyst you will be responsible for designing, building and implementing technology related tools and technology rich engagements to our clients and for our internal consultants
·  You will also be working as part of multi-skilled teams of talent management, organisational culture and design and workforce planning and optimisation experts specialising in talent solutions with a strong focus on technology and analytics to support evidence-based policy making, establishing organisational or HR analytics capability, and measurable business outcomes based analytics projects
·  You will have a focus on building technology and tools, data visualisations and management and data management and modelling

Your key responsibilities

·  Working closely with the People Advisory Services specialists in our team as well as across other sub-service lines, your responsibilities will be to build the tools that are needed, and support and maintain these on an ongoing basis
·  You will also play a role in understanding the business requirements and designing the tools for our clients, whilst working closely with other team members
·  You will have the opportunity, supported by other members of the team, to attend client meetings to consult on what the client’s need are, to document and analyse these needs, and help innovate compelling solutions
·  Taking the lead on actual building of tax reporting and analytics technology based tools across the EMEIA region
·  After initial technical training, you will be expected to manage your own time and workload
·  The role is based in London but may involve travel

Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for a data scientist with beyond advanced Excel skills and a keen interest in talent management and/or tax. This person should have a strong data foundation and a willingness to learn on the job and apply their skills to a wide variety of talent and tax solutions.

 

This person should be able to work alone and be detail orientated. A self-motivator who gets excited when confronted with a problem, and isn’t wary of having to research unknowns.


To qualify for the role you must have
·  Advanced Excel skills: advanced formulas (i.e. match, index, sumifs, indirect, etc.), pivot tables, charts/graphs
·  R and/or Python
·  Advanced Excel VBA experience
·  Ability to analyse large unstructured data sets from clients
·  Ability to compile data and build dashboards for deliverables
·  Ability to interpret and action instructions with a view towards building complete products and tools
·  PowerPoint and Word proficiency

Demonstrating experience of basic data analysis techniques as well as reporting, transforming and presentation of data will be required as part of the interview process.

Ideally, you’ll also have/be
·  Strong attention to detail to deliver high quality output
·  Proactive Tech Savvy learner, ability to learn and adapt in a fast paced and  growing business
·  Project management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
·  Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files: analysing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products
·  Talent / HR knowledge advantageous, but not required
·  Access, PowerPivot, Power Query and/or SQL advantageous
·  R, Python advantageous
·  SuccessFactors, Workday, SAS, SPSS/ Cognos advantageous
·  SharePoint experience advantageous (including site development)
·  PowerBI, Qlikview, Tableau or other visualisation application experience advantageous
