Tax Business Technology Operations Staff

 

The Tax Business Technology Operations Staff plays a key role in meeting the technology needs of GLOBAL Tax by acting as a trusted business advisor, truly understanding the business in order to improve their effectiveness through better use of technology.

 

The Tax Business Technology Operations Staff manages the relationships with their nominated GLOBAL Tax SSLs (Sub-Service Lines) and Regions. The Tax Business Technology Operations Staff is a key advocate in driving overall process success. Relying on resources within the firm, in particular, IT Services, the Regional Tax Business stakeholders & our Tax Business Technology team, the Tax Business Technology Operations Staff ensures that the overall process:

· 
Meet stakeholder, business Region, SSL and engagement team needs.

· 
Fits with the EY business and technology strategy and Vision 2020+. This could include replacement of applications with strategic and global solutions.

 

Relationship Management

· 
Manages key relationship in the GLOBAL Tax business at senior level through to key business stakeholders involved with business and technology planning.

· 
Relationships are maintained through regular “Touchpoint” meetings that review the product portfolio, services, projects and other technology matters relating to the relationship between GLOBAL Tax Business Technology and each Region or SSL.

· 
The Tax Business Technology Operations Staff will work with the Regional/SSL Tax IT Sponsor/Tax Business Technology team to:

· 
Review and process Business Cases for Approval committee

· 
Keep the portfolio application inventory up to date and ensure ownership and management of Region/SSL applications is in place

· 
Ensure key information is communicated to the Region/SSL IT Sponsor effectively

· 
Align the technology roadmap with strategy and EY’s Vision 2020+

· 
Produce annual budgets and IT plans including and maintaining a rolling long term plan

· 
Perform other tasks as needed to maintain the portfolio relationship

 

The Tax Business Technology Operations Staff can own GLOBAL nominated tools from an overall management perspective and works with their Regional / SSL Product Owners to help them manage their products.

 

Business Management

· 
Measures metrics in operations that were established in the business case.

· 
Effectively communicates (written & verbal) with higher management on process & business requests.

· 
Coordinates communications of key issues to management.

 

Business Skills

· 
Strong knowledge of EY or other Big Four Accountancy firm’s Tax Businesses. This knowledge could have been acquired through working with the EY Tax business in a Tax Business Technology or technology role or by working directly in the Tax business itself.

· 
Demonstrable skills in implementing technology in the business, especially the Tax business

· 
Knowledge and experience of Product Management, Organizational Change Management and Project Management methods.

· 
Fluent English language speaking. Other language skills are also of benefit given the multi-country nature of the role.

· 
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

· 
Ability to work with people from a diverse set of cultures at differing levels of seniority

Other qualifications & skill requirements :

 

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

· 
3 to 6 years of total work experience with at least 2-4 years of experience in preferably IT project management and coordination.

· 
Good exposure to IT project management, PMO roles.

· 
Working knowledge in SharePoint (Library & List management).

· 
Advanced level skills in MS Office (expert level skills in MS Excel).

· 
Bachelors or Master’s degree in any discipline.

· 
Good to have ITIL & Project management certifications.
