EY - GDS – Global Vendor Management - Vendor Commercial Owner

As part of EY GDS, the Vendor Commercial Owner (VCO) will be responsible for managing the commercial and billing activities in our newly formed Global Vendor Management Organization.

The opportunity

We’re looking for an Associate Director with expertise in leading the creation and negotiation of an efficient commercial and pricing model that leverages industry leading practices and is tied to Global VMO strategies. The VCO will manage billing, pricing and renewals of services, Change Orders and Contract Exit clauses. VCO requires close collaboration with various roles in Global VCO, including Vendor Contract Owner, Vendor Transformation Owner, Vendor Risk/ Compliance Owner, business operation and finance.

Your key responsibilities

·  Generates, analyses, and manages accurate and timely client proposals

·  Draft Contracts, Negotiate Contract terms and conditions. Creating and maintaining P&Ls for existing contract and new opportunities

·  Reading, understanding and adhering Contracts and work closely with GDS Finance to meet organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

·  Reading, analysing, and collaboratively working with the functional team owners to understand clients Request for Proposal (RFP) & protocol

·  Ensuring value add pricing where appropriate

·  Reading, analysing, and collaboratively working with VMO and functional team owners to ensure accuracy and completeness of change orders requests and to create change order budgets and
·  coordinate generation of additional scope of work language when required

·  Reading, analysing, and collaboratively working with the functional team owners to understand client  Request for Information (RFI) and ensuring RFI answers are maintained the RFI library

·  Determining standard, variable, and value add costing parameters based on RFP and protocol

·  Contributing to standard, variable, and value add costing parameters based on RFP and protocol

·  Coordinating & collaborating with team members to review Fee Schedules for large trials and/ or Programs to determine best pricing strategy and provide guidance and approval, while keeping
·  VMO, BU Heads, and Finance teams updated throughout the process

·  Incorporating any required sponsor revisions into cost formulas and documenting same for all proposals or change orders generated within the proposals group

·  Discussing and Reviewing all proposals per current Pricing Model

·  Generate within the proposals group meetings margin guidelines per the approved gross margin calculator or Price Book

·  Ensures pricing and proposals timelines are met by managing workload and ETAs

·  Attending and preparing information for VMO meetings - Maintains Quality Service and Departmental Standards by Ensuring ongoing understanding of EYGDS services

·  Assisting in establishing and enforcing departmental standards Ensuring all reviews, approvals, documents and analysis are filed in accordance to team requirements

·  Works closely with stakeholders to help prevent revenue leakage by leveraging the contract clauses

·  Facilitate best practices and work on mini-projects to improve the internal process of contracting
Contributes to team effort by Exploring new opportunities to add value to organization and departmental processes

·  Assist in establishing new contracts as part of divestitures, working closely with other EY functions

·  Provide project support to integrate and implement new vendor products and services

·  Assist in evaluation of operations of vendors against agreed service levels

·  Works with business owners, vendor management and other departments as required to help resolve vendor issues and to obtain and review vendor documentation

·  Assists Vendor Management with due diligence and oversight activities to include review of financial performance, reports over internal controls

Skills and attributes for success

·  Fluent in English – written and verbal

·  Analysing large quantities of data in order to form and communicate a crisp view of the vendor performance landscape

·  Continuously advising the account leadership team on expected financial performance vs. plan based upon analytics such as trend analysis and modelling of forward-looking scenarios

·  Operational knowledge of RFP development and analysis

·  Outstanding knowledge of service level agreement

·  Continuously advising the leadership team on expected performance vs. contractual obligations

·  Providing contractual modelling and advice to support pricing decisions

·  Able to work in a self-sufficient manner, operating across multiple vendors

·  Understands the commercial drivers of vendor performance

·  Synthesizes and communicates detailed contractual information in support of an effective decision-making process

·  Developing financial forecast scenarios for vendor performance based on information such as sales pipeline, resourcing, etc.

·  Forms and communicates a clear and concise view of contractual performance

·  Utilizes sound financial practices to support operational decisions

·  Delivers cogent messages, encompassing legal/financial analysis and recommendations

·  Demonstrates appreciation and respect of varying cultures – both corporate and geographical

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

·  Completion of a four-year college degree (e.g. Bachelor’s degree)

·  Graduate level education and or professional certification is recommended

·  10-12 years of relevant experience in a vendor management in BPO environment is required

·  Relevant years of experience in contracts/ proposals experience

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

·  Knowledge of legal concepts and experience drafting and negotiating contracts terminology and practices
