EY Foundry - Innovation - Venture Strategist - New York City

Job description

The Foundry is a New York-based team of entrepreneurs, product managers, operators and strategists who have a proven track record of turning ideas into successful new growth businesses. In April 2016, EY acquired this team out of Highnote Foundry, a venture capital and venture services firm, in order to build and launch new businesses for EY Americas Tax.

 

The opportunity

As a Venture Strategist, you will work with senior Foundry team members to evaluate and pursue new growth opportunities.  

 

The Foundry currently has a portfolio of projects in various stages of development. The team has launched several award winning new ventures since its inception. They build and acquire digital businesses and transform existing businesses. Examples of these business include:

*EY Engage – on-demand access to EY staff

*EY Navigate – personal financial wellness

*EY TaxChat – mobile, on-demand tax prep

*EY Pascal – machine learning solution

*EY CAAT – Crypto accounting & tax

 

Your key responsibilities

You will be responsible for framing problems, breaking them down into component parts and evaluating each methodically and thoroughly. Specifically, you will conduct primary and secondary research, create financial models and develop business cases in support of new opportunities. You will also manage a team to drive idea development, solution design and proof-of-concept development. As growth opportunities are prioritized and funded, you will operate in flexibly defined roles to support the development of new businesses.

To qualify for the role you must have  

·  Undergraduate and graduate degree from top-tier universities
·  8 to 10+ years of professional experience
·  Ability to structure problems, conduct analyses and articulate recommendations
·  Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
·  Impeccable oral, written and visual communication and presentation skills
·  Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word

  Ideally, you’ll also have 

·  4 to 5+ years of experience in management consulting or corporate strategy; experience in product management
