Program Mercury is a large, multi-year, enterprise-wide process transformation that will replace more than 1400 EY business systems and related processes with an integrated, SAP centric platform that will standardize and harmonize activities throughout the organization and significantly improve how EY manages its business. Program Mercury is a key enabler of EY’s Vision 2020, directly supporting the efforts of a number of transformation initiatives across the Firm by streamlining the application portfolio, reducing operating costs and providing a platform to deliver services more efficiently. 

The Mercury solution is built upon the very latest of technologies (Portal, Mobile, and SaaS) and a variety of hosting models (Cloud, Vendor and Internal). The SAP footprint is comprehensive, and the non-SAP components varied. The user base at the final rollout is in excess of 200k.

The opportunity

As a Technical Project Manager with the Mercury team you will deliver complex IT projects working with global teams across multiple time zones. This includes Project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closure. You will also use your expertise of project management processes such as scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication and stakeholder management.

Your key responsibilities

Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of technical projects

· 
Owner of the end to end delivery plan

· 
Weekly status reporting for the project team and leadership

· 
Builds trusted relationships with contacts with other IT teams

 

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

· 
Monitor program/project baselines to ensure activities are occurring as planned — scope, budget and schedule

· 
Proactively identify risks and issues on programs/ projects, helping team to develop risk management and issue management plans

· 
Identify potential points of contention for missed deliverables

· 
Develop and manage plans to address program/project strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats

· 
Analysis of program/project data to produce management information and identify and deliver continual improvement

· 
Hands on resource on planning and technical activities

 

Supervision Responsibilities:

· 
Reports to the Technical Delivery lead

· 
Works as required to:

· 
Select staff members

· 
Feedback on performance

· 
Assist with training and development of staff members

· 
Support staff members directly or indirectly in their roles

Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for candidates with 9 to 10 years of overall experience in corporate IT environment with 5 to 6 yearsof experience in program/project management on SAP solution implementation/support projects and infrastructure projects. If you have an excellent understanding of technology including SAP, are comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic program environment, this role is perfect for you.

To qualify for the role you must have:


· 
9 to 10 years of experience in a corporate IT environment

· 
5 to 6 years of experience in program/project management on SAP solution implementation/support projects and infrastructure projects

· 
A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience

· 
Technical knowledge on Network, OS, DB and SAP solutions

· 
Experience in related technical field (application development, deployment/implementation and infrastructure)

· 
Experience on complex Global SAP projects and full cycle implementation of SAP

· 
Experienced in MS Project use

· 
Project Management knowledge (processes, lifecycle)

· 
Knowledge and understanding of Earned Value principles

· 
Strong task orientated, organizational and planning skills

· 
Customer orientation and responsiveness

· 
Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change

· 
Outstanding self-management, influence management, information presentation and interpersonal communication

· 
English language skills — excellent written and verbal communication

· 
National and international travel may be required

Ideally, you’ll also have:


· 
At least two end to end SAP role design implementations or support experience

· 
Financial management experience

· 
Work experience in a professional services industry

· 
A relevant program/project management qualification (e.g. Prince Practioner, PMP)

· 
Familiarity with ITIL v2 or 3 would be advantageous

· 
Planning and quality certificates advantageous

· 
Lean Six Sigma certification advantageous
