Our Global Trade team develops actionable insight from data, supported by advanced skills in data analytics and model development. Deploying industry-leading analytics, this practice area provides insight to executives making strategic and operational decisions about their businesses Global Trade flows. UK’s Global Trade team is part of a European network, working collaboratively with teams across the continent to help clients understand the impacts of issues such as Brexit amongst other trade issues.

 
The opportunity
 

Due to unprecedented growth & demand the Global Trade team is looking for a talented individual to work with our existing analytics team in building and developing data models, databases and analytics projects supported by data visualization tools. We are open to individuals who have either an analytics or IT background that are willing to learn new skills.

 

This client facing team is a growing business which is expanding rapidly, working with major corporate clients focusing on innovation and data analysis. We operate in an international environment and working with both mid-size UK businesses and large multinational companies. We will support relevant training and qualifications.

 

Given the nature of the role, national and some international travel may be required

Your key responsibilities
·  Facilitate engagement process from start to finish including data collection and processing, data visualization and code writing
·  Lead/assist in the identification and documentation of data project requirements
·  Design and implement data analytical solutions such as frameworks, data models, visualisation and other analytical tools and applications
·  Apply analytical models and technique to derive insight and foresight from client data
·  Extract and articulate the added value behind the analysis
·  Conduct first level review of client deliverables
·  Ensure adherence to EY Quality and Risk Management procedures and responsibility for quality of analytical tools and applications
·  Working across our Tax practice & its various service offerings
·  Innovate and generate ideas to improve efficiency of the projects and client experience
·  Research new tools and applications
·  Helps the team achieve target fees by assisting in proposal development and other selling initiatives

To qualify for the role you must have
·  Good data manipulation skills required including cleaning and managing data
·  Understanding the value of analytics and capable of articulating this to non-technical stakeholders
·  Experience with data visualisation tools and packages (e.g. Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, Spotfire, or Qlikview)
·  Advanced MS Excel skills
·  Ability to research, learn and apply technology to solve business problems
Ideally you’ll also have
·  University degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer science, Engineering, Information Systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience preferred but not essential
·  Scripting/programming languages is a plus (Python, R, Alteryx etc.)
·  Experience in an analytical/algorithm/data/software development
·  Experience of Machine Learning development
·  Experience of working in a professional services environment
