The opportunity

 

We are looking for an accomplished Product Owner to join the Technology and Analytics Centre of Excellence team in our People Advisory Services (PAS) business.  

 

The Agile Product Owner will be responsible for guiding, developing and maintaining the Shadow Payroll technology, as part of our broader Payroll & Compensation offering. The role is highly collaborative, working closely as part of the design function and development teams.

 Our Innovation team has strong links with other advanced technology and innovation teams in EY both in the US and worldwide and offers excellent career potential in joining a rapidly growing team.

Your key responsibilities
· 
Own and maintain the Shadow Payroll backlog, and define and write all user stories

· 
Collaborate with key stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, development leads and peers to ensure regular backlog refinement and prioritization

· 
Work with Product Management to clearly communicate the business requirements to the team

· 
Prioritize the Journeys and Features in the backlog in preparation for Program Increment planning

· 
Attend Program Increment planning sessions, assisting in and defining stories where required

· 
Help the Scrum Master organize Sprint Review meetings

· 
Attend Sprint Planning meetings

· 
Responsible for quality control, testing of the user stories delivered by the development team

· 
Look out for market trends and get feedback from stakeholders, particularly the Product Sponsors

· 
Build and maintain a relationship with stakeholders, including key engagement teams and Product Sponsors

· 
Responsible for producing a system demo

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

We expect our teams to be agile in the technology they use, therefore, we are not prescriptive about the technologies you have experience using, as long you as you are eager to use the best available technology for the project and open to working with new tools and approaches.

Experience in a technology product owner role

· 
Experience working in an Agile development process

· 
Experience in end-to-end product lifecycle

· 
Outstanding written and verbal communication

· 
Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and ambiguity

· 
An ability to work well under pressure and work decisively

· 
Excellent decision-making capability

· 
Experience coaching junior staff

Ideally, you’ll also have

· 
Hands-on technical experience of software development
