Assurance
Assurance professionals play a vital role in the economy by providing companies, investors and regulators with confidence about the validity of financial statements, business-critical information or processes. But assurance skills are not limited to audit or finance. Assurance professionals also help clients make informed decisions about environmental policies, governance and management systems and fraud investigation.

Entry requirements:

Climate Change and Sustainability Services

Background of Climate Change and Sustainability Services

Our global, multidisciplinary teams equipped with assurance, tax, transactions and advisory services, work with a dedicated team on climate change and sustainability knowledge and experience in a wide range of industries. This team combination provides clients with tailored services supported by the EY global methodologies to address issues related to their specific needs.

Responsibilities:

·  Support business development initiatives, including preparing proposals and pitch book
·  Perform market research and update internal database
·  Assist in engagement projects instructed by senior colleagues

Entry requirements:

·  Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in final/penultimate year of study
·  Able to work for at least two full days per week
·  Demonstrate knowledge in one of the key sustainability areas, such as: CSR or sustainability reporting and assurance, food safety, carbon trading, sustainability in supply chain, responsible investment, and Environment, Health and Safety
·  Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
·  A good team player with maturity and independence
·  Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English preferred

 

Advisory Consulting Program

Background of Advisory - Advisory Consulting Program (ACP)

Our Advisory practice is divided into two businesses:

·  Risk
·  Performance Improvement

Risk management protects business performance and contributes to sustainability to financial results. It’s about achieving a clear understanding of risks and developing plans to manage them. As part of our teams of risk professionals, you will work with a broad range of global financial institutions to develop and integrate holistic approach to risk and control. Underpinning our risk capabilities are our strengths and skills in day-to-day operations, management and strategic decision-making.

Our Performance Improvement team is about helping clients improve efficiency, while also reducing their costs. We help clients by providing assessment, transformation and process efficiency services in experienced areas like finance, strategy, operations, IT Advisory, customer, people and organization.

Interns entering ACP enjoy opportunities to serve diverse clients across multiple services, while being provided learning, experiences and coaching to develop core consulting skills.

Entry requirements:

·  Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics, information system, computer science, engineering or a related field
·  Strong academic record and desire to work in consulting demonstrated by coursework, extracurricular activities or prior internship experience
·  Excellent written and spoken English; fluency in Chinese is not required but may be beneficial
·  Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills
·  Strong analytical, teamwork and organizational skills coupled with a strong interest in further developing industry knowledge

 

Risk

Background to Risk

Risk management protects business performance and contributes to sustainability. It is about achieving a clear understanding of risks and developing plans to manage them. As part of our team of risk professionals, you will work with multinational businesses and public-sector organizations to develop and integrate holistic approaches to risk and control.

We look for candidates with a mix of the following education background to develop their career in risk management:

Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering and Data Science

Relevant areas of development:

·  Analyze the business activities of the client company and their implications to performance and risk
·  Assist in the review and drafting of policy and procedure for client company with focus on process, controls and compliance
·  Assist in the improvement of risk governance, controls and regulatory compliance
·  Assist in the execution of a wide range of business risk, finance transformation and regulatory advisory projects with a focus on the implementation of new tools, systems and processes
·  Assist in design, research and development of prototypes and tools for risk management, business analytics and regulatory reporting
·  Assist in the execution of IT/IS audit, technology/cyber risk assessment, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing on client company’s IT process, application systems and infrastructure
·  Assist in design and implementation of technology/cyber risk management function through requirements gathering, process analysis and system implementation
·  Assist in robotic and intelligent automation, and process reengineering
·  Assist in data quality and data management initiatives

Requirements:

·  Penultimate or final year student pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline, preferable in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering and Data Science
·  Strong communication, research, presentation, teamwork and interpersonal skills
·  Knowledge in common operating systems and database management platforms and experience in vulnerability scanning tools and penetration test techniques is an advantage
·  Experience in Excel VBA, analytic tools, programming, database skills and/or data science tools is an advantage
·  Excellent written and spoken English and/or Chinese; fluent in Mandarin and/or other languages is an advantage (non-Chinese speakers will also be considered)
·  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Tax

Background of Tax 

The Tax department provides quality services in many industries. We help our clients understand and manage their tax compliance and reporting obligations responsibly and proactively. We help them assess, improve and monitor their tax function’s processes, controls and risk management and maintain effective relationships with the tax authorities.

Responsibilities:

·  Assist in providing tax compliance services to the client, performing tax computation
·  Assist in conducting research on tax matters
·  Support and assist in the client’s engagement implementation
·  Follow up the jobs assigned by the management

Transaction Advisory Service

 Valuation, Modeling & Economics

Background of Valuation, Modeling & Economics

We are committed to delivering independent and objective business valuation services to a range of private and public companies in various industries in Hong Kong, Mainland China and throughout Asia. We help our clients improve alignment between management decision-making, resource allocation, executive compensation and enterprise performance.

Responsibilities

·  Conduct equity and industry research, management interviews and site visits; support managers by analyzing information obtained from various channels for use in the preparation of valuation reports
·  Review and analyze valuation reports issued by other firms in order to assist audit teams on the projects associated with fair value measurements
·  Appraise company or asset values using the income approach, market approach or asset-based approach for transaction, financial reporting or tax purposes
·  Work closely with clients, targets and other professionals in the financial due diligence, legal, tax and valuation fields

Requirements

·  Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in penultimate year of study
·  Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese

Internship period and duration
