Summary:


Reporting to the General Manager,  the Technical Writer assumes responsibility for the coordination, development, and writing of the Services Plans, Policies, and Procedures, as part of the Transition Period for new Facilities Management and Public Private Partnership (P3) projects. Service Plans, Policies, and Procedures describe in detail “how” services will be delivered and are customized to each facility or portfolio. Some Services Plans, Policies, and Procedures to be documented include, but are not limited to:

·  Operations;
·  Fire and Life Safety;
·  Emergency Management;
·  Business Continuity;
·  Help Desk Services;
·  Quality Management;
·  Energy Management;
·  Lifecycle Replacement and Refurbishment; and
·  Annual and 5-Yearly Preventative Maintenance Plans,
Responsabilities:

 
·  Work with a Transition Manager to establish timelines for review and delivery of Service Plans to the client;
·  Review technical and contractual specifications to determine requirements and deliverables;
·  Interview Subject Matter Experts to have input required for the development of Service Plans;
·  Create Service Plans according to project specifications;
·  Attend Client meetings to present Service Plans, gather feedback and understanding of their needs during reviews;
·  Attend other relevant client meetings as required;
·  Assess the service delivery model and understand the performance regime;
·  Document and communicate lessons learned for future projects;
·  Support the operations teams in annual reviews of their Service Plans;
·  Support various teams by providing technical edits of ad-hoc documentation;
·  Support the Bid Development Team with examples of documentation upon request; and
·  Perform any other related duties required by the position or requested by the immediate superior.

Requirements:

·  Experience within an industrial environment (District Heating and Cooling), including Public Private Partnerships (P3) is preferred;
·  Degree in English, Professional Writing, Communications, Technical Writing, Technical Communications, or equivalent;
·  Ability to travel; and
·  5-10 years’ successful experience in similar position.

Skills:  

·  Excellent writer;
·  Solid communication and teamwork;
·  Very solid analytical skills and ability to imagine innovative solutions;
·  Expert with MS Office Suite (MS Excel, Visio, Word, PPT, SharePoint, etc.)
·  Self-starter with ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks under pressure with minimal supervision;
·  Quick learner, flexible, and adaptable;
·  Eye for detail; and
·  Master of the English language – knowledge of French would be an asset, but is not mandatory.
