Project Controller - GCC

The working environment
The Project Controller & Internal Controller Middle East is based in Dubai, UAE and reports to the Regional Financial Controller (RFC) for the Project Control and to the CFO for the Internal Control.
Your function
·
· Support the RFC for the deployment and integration of the finance organization within Middle East (incl. implementation of group standards and systems, sharing the best practices, providing training, etc…)
· Support and challenge the projects managers (PM) on their projects’ performance (actuals, budget…)
· Responsible for the invoicing and cash collection process with the support of the PM
· Support the team to produce monthly and quarterly social & consolidated financial statements, KPIs, budgets and any information requested by the CFO
· Analyses the financial performance of the projects / entities within Middle East and steers the realisation of their targets
· Analyses cost optimisation opportunities together with the RFC
· Advise entities and the regional team on accounting, IFRS, tax
· Contribute to the watch and assessment of new regulations, in particular with respect to finance, accounting and tax matters
· Contribute to the compliance of all companies within the Middle East region with finance & accounting policies of Tractebel group
· Contribute when needed to the definition of procedures and methods for Business Development in all aspects related to project accounting representation and integration within the Middle East scope
The key roles and responsibilities as Internal Controller are:
· Responsible together with the Business Process Owners for the implementation and self-assessment of internal control / INCOME frameworks
· Support the entities and the Business Process Owners on internal control / INCOME matters
· Assessment and improvements of existing frameworks (together with BPO’s)
· Identification of internal control deficiencies and implementation of recommendations
· Monitor and report on internal control progress / issues
· Provide training in all activities related to Internal Control
· Ad hoc internal control projects

· Projects Managers
· RCF, CFO and Finance community (accounting team, Corporate team for tax, insurance etc…)
· Internal Control community
Management: no staff management but strong interaction with Projects Managers and Accounting team
Qualifications
University degree or equivalent in accounting or finance.
Any additional training or degree is an asset (CPA, CFA, ACCA, MBA)
Language
Strong and excellent communication skills in English. One of the following languages (Arabic/French/Hindi) is a plus
Experience and Skills
· Min. 4 years’ experience in Finance (Business Control/Accounting/Consolidation, Audit...)
· Min. 2 years’ experience in Internal Control / Audit domain (process analysis, design…)
· Experience of conducting internal control assignments from planning through to reporting of findings, and recommendations, gained through internal control and/or financial audit and/or other review activities.
· Additional experience outside finance is optional but could be useful
· Familiar with complex organizations (multicultural, wide geographical scope)
Technology
Able to work with modern communication and collaboration tools (Team, Sharepoint...)
Capabilities to drive IT digitalization within the different department
Good knowledge of O365; proficiency in Excel being mandatory (ability to build complicated tables)
Demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed, Excel-based, financial models
Knowledge of consolidation system (SAP Business Objects Financial Consolidation) and BI tools (SAP Business Planning and Consolidation).
Knowledge and experience on QuickBooks and/or similar financial packages is a plus
Soft skills
Ability to work independently and proactively with a high level of initiative, anticipation and sense of urgency
Able to manage various and shifting priorities, able to adapt quickly in an environment with tight deadlines and high-quality standards
Team player
Strong soft skills (communication, negotiation/facilitation…)
Pragmatic with strong problem-solving skills & capability to summarize (synthetic mindset)
Ability to engage constructively with different stakeholders (finance and non-finance)
Business Understanding
Knowledge of Engineering consultancy activities (e.g. Power Generation, T&D, Energy Transition, Urban etc…)
