The GENERATION EUROPE BU (BU GEN) combines ENGIE’s thermal generation activities in Europe in a single entity to meet the business challenges of the energy transition . The Business Unit’s scope of activity covers the management and operation of natural gas, coal, biomass and large-scale Combined Heat Power assets. It is a cross-functional Business Unit currently operating about 20 GW across 8 countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal and Spain) with a workforce of 1500 employees. Carried forward by motivated teams and fully committed to our stakeholders, BU GEN aims at contributing to the harmonious progress by:

Main Objectives & Challenges: 

 

Within BU Generation Europe(BU GEN) of ENGIE Group we are looking for a highly motivated, committed and dynamic Power Generation Trainee (M/F) . This is an exciting opportunity offered by BU GEN to enhance your knowledge and competences whilst working in the power generation sector for one of the world’s leaders in the energy transition scene.

During a 18-months rotation programme (3 assignments of 6-months each) we will provide you with an intensive on-the-job field training in different operational areas. Throughout the traineeship you will:   

· 
Gain good technical knowledge and hands-on experience in the power generation sector by working in different departments and power plants, mainly in the northern region of Belgium.

· 
Develop a broad set of technical and soft skills by being exposed to challenging field assignments.

· 
Have the chance to take on more responsibility by dealing with interesting operational missions and projects.

· 
Get the opportunity to work in diverse teams and develop a wide network.   

The nature of the projects and missions during the entire programme may differ from one to another; in any case, variety and technical content are guaranteed . Since your development and engagement is important to us, you will take part in choosing your own assignments !

 

Example of missions proposed in Bruges-Gent-Brussel Entity: a) Implement two technical renovation/improvement projects from A to Z (i.e.: renew and improve generator CO2 installation; install anti-icing on cooling circuit). b) Take up a role in the daily Operation team

 

Throughout the programme you will be coached by senior experts and experienced field managers where your different assignments will  take place. All the way through your traineeship programme will be followed-up, supported and coordinated by our Talent & Organization Development Department. They will help you to identify where your talents can be best deployed, so you can prepare yourself well for your future career within our BU and the ENGIE Group.

Location:

·  This trainee position is based in Belgium
·  Regular travel amongst the different local sites and plants in the northern region of Belgium is to be foreseen (depending on the assignments)

Experience / Diploma:
·  University degree in Civil, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
·  Genuine interest in developing a technical/managerial career as an Engineer in the energy business
·  Between 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in the power generation sector is a plus 

Technical / Business skills:
·  You have a solid technical background with a good insight of the energy sector
·  You enjoy working ‘hands-on’ and you are interested in operative assignments  

Behavioral skills:

·  You have outstanding communication skills; you demonstrate to be pragmatic and have the capacity to develop an internal/external network
·  You have excellent interpersonal skills and able to get on easily with other people (regardless of their position and/or level in the organization)
·  You are open minded, curious, assertive, pro-active and you show the right ambition level
·  You are flexible and you show swift adaptability skills to work in different domains and environments
·  You have strong analytical skills and you demonstrate the capacity to see a global picture in complex problems/situations
·  You are results driven; you prove to have the enthusiasm and autonomy needed to carry out successfully the projects and missions assigned to you
·  You are able to work under pressure and deliver as expected, without sacrificing the quality of your work 

Specific Business Understanding:

·  Good insight on the energy transition landscape 

Languages:

·  Excellent command and fluency in Dutch (must criteria!) and English
·  Other languages like French, German, Italian or Spanish are a significant plus to your application

Job Level / Contract:

·  Young Professional status during the 18-months traineeship program
·  Local Belgian contract is offered
