ENGIE are recruiting for a Portering Supervisor to be based in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.

You will be part of a team which provides a service to department with in the hospital by undertaking portering supervising duties of routine and non- routine nature in an efficient and courteous manner whilst maintaining the high-quality image and standards established with in the department.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

You will be part of a team which provides a service to departments within the hospital / university by undertaking Portering supervising duties of a routine and non-routine nature in an efficient and courteous manner whilst maintaining the high-quality image and standards established within the department.

· 
To supervise and exhibit courtesy and ensure efficient service to patients, visitors and users of the service.

· 
The supervision of collection, conveyance and transfer of cadavers from all clinical areas to the Mortuary in a dignified and careful manner at all times.

· 
Assist and supervise in the deceased viewing protocol as required.

· 
To supervise the collection of refuse, cardboard, dirty laundry, clinical waste etc and segregation of the same for disposal and transfer to respective areas.

· 
Supervise the operation of electric vehicles master mover's electric pallet trucks.

· 
To supervise the delivery/collection of laundry, pharmacy supplies, blood, specimens, patients notes, medical gases, mail and ad hoc item scheduled and directed.

· 
To understand, apply, supervise or be involved in all emergency procedures including emergency blood protocols, major haemorrhages, major alerts and fire procedures.

· 
To supervise ad-hoc requests as required including the movement of furniture, office equipment, ward equipment including heavy items as required.

· 
To supervise and adhere to the Health and Safety guideline regarding Clinical Waste, Control of Infection and Medical Gases.

· 
Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times specifically in relation to patient information and the use of Radios.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

·  To be flexible, and at times undertake any or all of the duties identified.
·  To ensure all Policies and Procedures are adhered to such as Health and Safety and the wearing of PPE as required
·  To organize shift Rota's, holiday cover O/Time required, undertake RIW .training, carry out TBT, and to undertake any request given by the management team. Any other tasks deemed necessary by the manager
