ENGIE has an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join the Planning Policy Team working on our North East Lincolnshire contract delivering services in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council.

The Council adopted a pro-growth local plan in 2018 and was the first town to sign a landmark Town Deal providing the tools and resources to boost growth and regeneration. The planning policy team will play a key role in the delivery of exciting and ambitious projects coming forward.

We are keen to employ a motivated, confident and innovative Planner to be work on the preparation and delivery of statutory planning policy documents and related projects. The role requires creativity, knowledge, skill and an awareness of cross cutting delivery issues. Ideally you will have a number of years' experience in this field, however, applications are also welcome from candidates starting out on this career path.

Role Overview:

·  To prepare and lead work on statutory and non-statutory planning policy documents, including:
·  formulation of planning policies, and its justification through provision of robust evidence base.
·  preparation and undertaking of consultation and engagement activities.
·  liaison with Council planning policy officers regarding delivery of the Local Plan.
·  preparation for and attendance at public examinations. Planning inquiries and appeals as required.
·  To Assist in the development of any schemes, projects or strategy directly associated with regeneration and economic growth.
·  To ensure appropriate evidence, monitoring and statistical returns are undertaken, working closely with monitoring and support officers.
·  To progress initiatives and projects that promote growth in the Borough, and facilitate delivery of developments

Professional Experience:

·  A degree or diploma in Town and Country Planning or related environmental discipline
·  Ideally a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, however applications are also welcome from candidates willing to commit to achieve this.
·  Experience of research, analysis, interpretation and application of regulatory frameworks and codes of practice.
·  Knowledge of town and country planning legislation, the development process and statistical methodology including knowledge of Sustainability Appraisal and Habitats Regulations Procedures.
·  Knowledge of data analysis techniques across a broad and complex range of environmental and socio-economic disciplines.
·  Excellent report writing skills.
