The Role: Performance Control Advisor

Purpose
Responsible for performance control activities and financial planning functions for Asset Optimization. 

May work with the different functions and businesses within ENGIE North America to deliver and continue to refine a set of operational and financial measurement indicators (e.g. KPIs) providing senior management and shareholder with a good understanding of the business performance and drivers. 

Work on enhancing integration of processes between Performance Control and other corporate departments, including Business Control, Finance and Middle Office.

Essential Job Functions
·  Serve as a subject matter expert for all performance control duties in Asset Optimization.
·  Create and manage partnership reporting, on a monthly and quarterly basis, to meet the requirements of various stakeholders including tax equity partners, lenders, and other owners.
·  Create and manage internal reporting to bring the Asset Optimization Leadership team valuable insights into various segments of the business on a weekly and monthly basis to drive change.
·  Analyze results and/or build financial projections and communicate on financial and operational drivers to executive management.
·  Manage and coordinate the forecasting processes (Budget, medium term plans, etc.) with a focus on:
·  a. identifying the underlying business drivers
·  b. communication of the financial data and main assumptions to all stakeholders
·  c. bringing forward insightful material to trigger decision making discussions
·  Responsible for Asset Optimization processes including preparation of financial analysis, coordination of reporting requirements and vetting of monthly financial statements submitted to ENGIE North America Business Control.
·  Responsible for budgeting of Asset Optimization facilities and partnerships.  Work includes modeling, setting timelines/calendar, coordinating with other departments, analysis and bringing insights to the business.  Also, would be expected to load all budgets into budgeting software for submission to parent.  Finally, the individual will assist in the budget presentation process for Asset Optimization both internally and to partnerships. 
·  Ensure analysis and various checks on business unit including financial variance analysis, working capital, key performance drivers, capital expenditures, and cash flows are completed accurately and timely as required.
·  Act as a liaison between Asset Optimization and other financial groups (Business Control, Treasury, Performance Control, Statutory Reporting, etc.).
·  Manage internal activities of Asset Optimization that include responsibilities of gathering data, providing analysis, preparing reports, making recommendations, driving productivity initiatives and corrective actions.
·  Lead or act as a high level team member on special projects as needed.
·  Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
·  Highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented.
·  Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization; demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization.
·  Creative problem solving skills and ability to utilize good judgment.
·  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.

Essential Physical Abilities

·  Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
·  Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
·  Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·  Be self-driven and highly motivated to lead a wide variety of initiatives to provide insight and recommendations to the Retail Leadership team to better position the business.
·  Analyze detailed performance and financial KPI’s and produce insights.
·  Manage a variety of performance control functions.
·  Review monthly and annual closing process to ensure financials are accurate.
·  Preparation of budget models, SGA detail, CAPEX detail, and presentations during budget cycles.
·  Coordinate and prepare responses for special requests for Retail business unit.
·  Assist other BC groups.

Education/Experience

·  Bachelor degree in Accounting required.
·  5+ years’ experience in financial reporting or accounting.
·  5+ years’ experience in the energy industry  
·  Experienced creating and working with financial models.
·  Energy sector planning and analysis experience with relevant academic qualifications and intimacy with financial statements.
·  Deadline driven with project management skills necessary for cross-organizational coordination and on-time delivery of results and presentations.
·  2 years of accounting for tax equity partnerships a plus
