ENGIE are recruiting for a Mobile Property Maintenance Apprentice  to be based at HML School, Wheeler Street Birmingham and work across a portfolio of 15 schools in Birmingham This is a 12 months apprenticeship role, working full time, at 37.5 hours per week . On offer is a salary between £8 and £8.5 per hour, relevant to the age and skill of the successful candidate. and benefits package.

The PM Apprentice will work together with the Site Maintenance Assistant, to optimise the property conditions and quality and to ensure that the buildings are kept in safe working conditions. This is a mobile role based around the Birmingham Schools geographical area
The successful candidate will be working towards Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship, Level 2 Qualification.

ENGIE are committed to developing the Property Maintenance Apprentice and will have regular 121s with Senior Management on the contract to ensure progression and development within the role. Following the completion of the apprenticeship, the PM Apprentice will be competent to undertake the role of Site Maintenance Assistant with ultimate progression envisaged into an Engineering role within the contract.

Main Responsibilities/Duties will Include:

·  To become fully familiar with all Company and site procedures and carry out all duties detailed in ENGIE’s management system.
·  To undertake general supervised & unsupervised maintenance duties & minor repair work on electrical, mechanical and building services, that does not require the attention of a craftsman or technician,
·  To be able to use relevant tools and equipment, with training if required
·  To comply with all current legislation in connection with all works and duties undertaken
·  Must be willing to carry a smartphone to facilitate response to Faults which will be automated from the helpdesk.
·  Maintain the general tidiness of all compounds, workshops, plant rooms and service ducts
·  drains
·  To carry out repairs and minor alterations
·  To provide assistance to other craftsmen if required, within the Estate Department
·  To complete all administrative functions correctly and efficiently, in either paper format or via the company provided IT equipment
·  To complete all units laid down in the formal qualification, in order to achieve the company standards
·  To ensure accurate and timely completion of any relevant site-based documentation
·  To adhere to Company quality standards to include compliance with specifications, materials and workmanship
·  To attend all relevant training courses including all SHEQ courses arranged by the employer and Tool Box Talks
·  To maintain and care for all company tools
·  To wear appropriate clothing and PPE, specific to tasks
·  To ensure all areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the working day
·  To carry out any other duties which may from time to time reasonably be required, within the general level of responsibility of the post
·  To understand the principles of H&S management procedures
·  Within a maintenance environment, the post holder will occasionally be expected to carry out any reasonable request for which they have received training and is considered competent.
·  Assist in any other activity where a competent person is in attendance. The following responsibilities outlined are not intended to be exhaustive and specific duties will be defined based on the skillset of the individual recruited and the wider maintenance team
