Summary:


The Maintenance Supervisor, reporting to the Operations Manager, is responsible for the maintenance of all thermal plant equipment and district energy systems. This includes high pressure steam plant production and network equipment, chilled and hot water production and network equipment, HVAC systems, architectural and structural plant components.

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of all equipment for five (5) thermal plants and their district energy systems. This person must be proactive in risk assessment of equipment and system failures or operational circumstances. This person ensures the proper implementation of contingency plans and ensures that safety rules and regulations are followed in the execution of daily maintenance and repair tasks.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for a team of technicians and sub contractors.

Responsabilities:

·  Responsible for organizing and supervising maintenance tasks in coordination with the Plant Chiefs.
·  Responsible for training on-site company personnel in the performance of their duties.
·  Develop, implement and coordinate preventive maintenance programs, work methods, procedures and work-scheduling for efficient maintenance and repair activities in the plants and networks.
·  Work closely with outside subcontractors, evaluate bids, make recommendations for the Operations Manager, and supervise subcontractor work to its completion.
·  Regularly inspect equipment condition under the contract; reports actions to correct deficiencies. Execute quality inspection by sampling various completed work tasks.
·  Provide written reports for inclusion in the Operations Management reports.
·  Analyze equipment breakdowns and propose possible corrective solutions.
·  Inform the Operations Manager of any life-expired equipment and provide solutions.
·  Make necessary decisions during urgent system failures and help contingency planning.
·  Transmit any information/procedures from upper management and ensures proper execution for staff and subcontractors.
·  Maximize communication and collaboration with the team.
·  Ensure that all equipment and materials are of the required standard and that procedures are in place to prevent fraud and safety issues.
·  Supervise the observance of all guidelines, instructions and conditions applicable to the Project as laid down by local, Provincial and Federal Laws.
·  Perform maintenance tasks and repairs if required in the absence if his team.
·  Manage all aspects of the digital tools required for all technicians to perform maintenance tasks, including modifying equipment task lists and asset lists.
·  Complete all other tasks required by the Operations Manager.

Requirements:

·  Valid Ontario TSSA Stationary Engineering ticket;
·  5 years' experience in directing and managing personnel responsible for accomplishment of work in their respective trades;
·  Familiar with reporting systems (CMMS);
·  Software knowledge: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
·  Demonstrated extensive experience in high pressure steam plants and large scale distribution networks,
·  Available for on call problems;
·  Trouble shooting and problem solving experience in a medium to large organization;
·  Able to use hand held portable devices to manage work orders;
·  Planning and organizing skills,
·  Excellent verbal and written communication;
·  Knowledge of French language can be considered as an asset.
·  High level of customer oriented understanding;
·  Ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, enclosed spaces and heights,
·  Valid Driver's License as occasional travel to Ottawa/Gatineau area sites will be required.
·  Able to complete a successful criminal background check and security clearance.
