ENGIE are recruiting for an IT Security Apprentice to be based in No 1, 26 Whitehall Rd, Leeds LS12 1BE, Q3, Quorum Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE12 8EX or 25 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5LQ. This is a 24 months apprenticeship full-time time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for incident response and handling as well as risk, policy and governance role for the Cyber Security functional support line working across all divisions of Engie UK. Provide support and guidance in order to maintain ISO27001, Cyber Essentials and other information security-related certifications for new and existing projects. The successful candidate will assist with security incidents, such as virus breakout, web site defacement, lost or stolen equipment, through to resolution, producing route cause analysis reports and after-action recommendations. The successful candidate role will be to improve the cybersecurity culture through awareness, training and interactive “clinics”. Expected to drive security and compliance in all divisions, ensure proposed solutions are in line with security policy, standards, industry best practice, governance and compliance frameworks; ensure our business data and systems are secure.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Reacts to and assists with security incidents through remedial action, reporting and closure
·  Ensures security controls are consistently applied and address both internal and external security compliance and legislative requirements
·  Engages with the business from the bidding phase through to project delivery on all matters of operational security and on issues relating to security governance
·  Provide technical advice on implementation of security controls across all business systems e.g. ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, PCI DSS
·  Perform event tree and fault tree analysis as well as business impact analysis of risk relating to existing and new solutions and projects
·  Document operational security standards and draft policies when required

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

·  There are no predetermined qualifications, instead a demonstrable knowledge and interest in IT Security is essential.
·  This position requires no formal IT knowledge, although there is an expectation of a strong IT Security understanding and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. A desire to expand on fundamentals and a readiness to develop knowledge to a deeper degree. Enthusiasm and passion for IT Security is essential.
·  Previous IT experience is desirable.
·  IT related degree is desirable.
·  An understanding of cyber threats, hazards, risks, controls, measures and mitigations to protect systems and people
·  An understanding of managing virus and malware incidents.
