TRACTEBEL Philippines is established in Metro Manila (Ortigas Center, Pasig City). This office, in coordination with other TRACTEBEL offices in the region, is offering services in the Philippines and all over South East Asia.

Job Description and Missions

Under the responsibility of the Head of Energy or the Energy Project Manager, you will be fully responsible for delivering Geological advisory services, with the support of regional and international team. The projects you can be involved include hydropower, renewable energy, conventional energy…
You will provide contributions according to the highest standards of quality and safety.
You may also be requested to support Business Development activities for the Energy department.

To support efficiently the expansion of our activities in Tractebel Philippines we are looking for a:

GEOLOGIST

Your main responsibilities are:

Regarding your contribution on Projects :
• Analyze geological and geophysical information from sources such as survey data, well logs, boreholes and pictures.
• Identify risks for natural disasters such as mud slides, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions, and provide advice on ways in which potential damage can be mitigated.
• Conduct geological and geophysical studies to provide information for use in site selection and further development of projects.
• Inspect construction projects in order to analyze engineering problems, applying geological knowledge and using test equipment and drilling machinery.
• Supervise geotechnical survey works.

Regarding your Business Development contribution:
• Relay any business opportunity you may be aware of
• Suggest relevant Business Development actions
• Support the Business Development team upon request

The position requires:
• A Master Degree in Geology
• Knowledge in Geotechnical is a serious asset
• At least 5 years of experience as Geologist on projects including project feasibility studies, realisation and follow-up
• You have a very good command of English and Filipino (both verbal and written skills)
• You are able to work with remote team members, communicate with foreign experts and evolve in an International environment.
• You are comfortable with diverse working environments: on site (even remote sites during geological campaigns) and in the office
• You are recognized for your capacity to provide concise and understandable reports
• You are a team players and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• You are flexible, you are good at planning concurrent assignments and you are a good organiser, even in unexpected circumstances
• You are willing to travel for short term missions
