Position Status: Permanent, Full Time
Number of positions: 1
Schedule: Be available to work on day shift (7 h 00 am to 3 h 30 pm), afternoon shift (2 h 30 pm to 11h 00 pm and on weekends (7 h 00 am to 7 h 00 pm).*The schedule may change regarding the needs of the operations.*

Summary:
Under the authority of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Building Operator performs diverse manual tasks concerning building maintenance and operations.Note: The Building Operator will need to work in different buildings in York Region and will need to travel between them.

 

Responsabilities:
• Maintain the building in order to provide comfort and security to all occupants;
• Complete scheduled Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks within agreed upon Service Level Agreement (SLA);
• Carry out daily inspections in the buildings;
• Receive enquiry calls from client’s personnel, record in CMMS and take appropriate actions;
• Support in small projects and minor repairs, such as patching and painting, tiling, flooring and minor plumbing and electrical repairs, (Non energized), carpentry and furniture moves;
• Preventive maintenance of all types of doors and their hardware;
• Minor plumbing such as unclogging drains and faucet repairs;
• General cleanup of the work areas and technical rooms;
• Under minimal direction, work directly from the work orders provided from the CMMS;
• Use hand and power tools and other equipment, as necessary, to complete assignments;
• Follows all company safety and security procedures;
• Enter and complete work orders utilizing the mobile CMMS provided;
• Completes all other tasks required by his immediate supervisor.

 
Requirements:
·  High School diploma or equivalent;
·  A minimum of 3 years related Building HVAC maintenance experience;
·  3 to 5 years of experience in technical background including but not limited to: 4th Class Stationary Engineer, Refrigeration Class A/B Operator, Gas Technician (G1, 2 or 3) (assets);
·  Repair/maintenance to HVAC and building controls (an asset);
·  Able to use hand held portable devices to process work orders with in CMMS;
·  Able to move and lift loads. The candidate needs to satisfy the physical activities of the job;
·  Ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, enclosed spaces and heights up to 80 feet;
·  Ability to pass all background checks and security screenings;
·  Valid Driver’s License;
·  Must be available on call outside business hours (on a rotational basis);
·  Able to work with minimum supervision.
