ENGIE are recruiting for a Building Fabric Engineer (Legacy) to be based in the England or Scotland. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

General Overview:  

The main purpose of the role of Building Fabric Engineer (Legacy) is to provide technical support on building fabric matters to assist the Head of Commercial Legacy in the resolution of legacy technical issues and the development of the ongoing hand-back strategy within the Places, Healthcare & Education (“PH&E”) division (which comprises a portfolio of over 80 operational PPP projects).

Key Accountabilities: 

The role will require the post-holder to:

·  have extensive technical expertise and strong commercial awareness; 
·  investigate the root cause(s) of possible or actual building fabric failures/defects and their impact on assets and/or the business;
·  give his/her considered view on likely causation and the events giving rise to any such failures/defects;
·  provide such technical support as is necessary to support any claims made by or against Engie in connection with such failures/defects; 
·  engage with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the business including end-user clients.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience: 

·  Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g. structural engineering); 
·  Chartered with Institute of Structural Engineering advantageous;
·  experience of building and building fabric structural design across hospital and education sectors;
·  demonstrable technical experience in complex operational PPP contracts;
·  experience of construction claims (including dispute resolution procedures) preferred;
·  experience preparing technical aspects of claims desirable;
·  excellent communication skills;
·  sound understanding of technical risk analysis/management;
·  PC literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel.
