Role Summary

We are currently hiring experienced Wintel Engineers to work on a very exciting digital transformation programme for the UKs largest police force. We require experienced, client focused Engineers with a high standard of communication and documentation skills. All of our Wintel Engineers require good analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to own and run issues from start to resolution as well as being able to work on both project and BAU based work.

The successful candidates will also have experience building and managing Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 server environments as well as using VMWare Management interfaces, managing Active Directory (2008 & 2012) and administering domain controllers.

ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE WITH POTENTIAL ON-CALL AND OUT OF HOURS DEPLOYMENTS.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

In particular, we are keen to speak with candidates with specific skills in the following:

·  VMware infrastructure v6/6.5 onwards –configuration/maintenance/upgrades/VSan/NSXand VMware Site Recovery Manager
·  Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop v7 onwards
·  Strong knowledge of ADFS, SSL Certificates. O365 and associated technologies such as Azure AD/AAD Connect
·  Strong knowledge of Powershell  - scripting, PowerCLI – focus on automation
·  Hyper-V v2/v3
·  Strong knowledge of SCCM/SCOM/SCDPM/SOE
·  Ability to Manage Large scaled Active Directory infrastructure

Good knowledge in, setting and building large scale environments using:

·  X86/X64 – Operating System 2003 - 2019
·  Active Directory (2008 and 2012)  
·  HDS Cloud
·  Veritas Clustering
·  MS Clustering
·  Office 365 and Windows 10
·  Disaster Recovery experience
·  Ability to work on more than one project
·  Experience of supporting a variety of Windows client and server operating systems
·  Familiarity with VMWare (vSphere 6.5, vCenter etc)
·  Knowledge of monitoring alerting, logging and status messages
·  Troubleshooting network issues
·  Fundamental networking knowledge – IP, DNS, IP routing, network address translation etc.
·  Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Windows Server operating systems
