The Digital Transformation Centres (DTC) are expanding rapidly to meet the demand for agile driven solutions from our extensive customer base. Market leaders in offering creative, rapid and cost efficient solutioning to a multitude of business and process needs, the DTC is the ‘thinktank’ where this work is born, much of it is first of type, proof of concept innovation projects. As part of a major corporate strategy change we are looking to massively revamp the delivery model of our IT services. At the heart of the re-structuring of DXC in the UK is a move towards Agile Delivery within our customer engagements.

Departing from traditional server and desktop engineering roles with rigid, hands-off, demarcated processes we are changing to an organisation which values empowerment throughout our organisation from the apprentices we are bringing into their very first taste of the world of professional IT Service and Consultancy, to highly experienced engineers, architects and scrum masters who are leading our deliveries to some of the UK’s largest secure institutions in both the public and private sectors.

We are looking for focused and driven individuals, who are willing to take on the challenge to design and deliver these environments, plan the migrations and reduce process bureaucracy whilst implementing a culture which values outcomes for our customers above contractual boundary management.

The roles will be location independent, but travel will be necessary within the UK and potentially globally.

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a face paced, leading IT Services organisations as a member of the Digital Transformation Centre team, which will offer you the ability to broaden your skills set while taking on greater technical responsibility.

You will apply your skills to:

·  Produce innovative and robust build documents, technical designs, play books etc.
·  Apply depth and breadth of technical knowledge to deliver technical components using a ‘micro-services’ approach
·  Implement servers and services across multiple virtual and physical infrastructure
·  Migrate servers and services to new platforms across multiple virtual and physical infrastructure
·  Automate to remove repetitive tasks to simply deployments, service and support
·  Work collaboratively with our Customer teams to ensure timely delivery
·  Contribute to knowledge tools and communities and ensure micro-services can be re-used as a template for other engagements

Core Skills and Experience:

·  Extensive and demonstrable Wintel experience in designing and implementing solutions
·  Extensive and demonstrable Windows administration, security hardening and troubleshooting experience
·  Extensive and demonstrable NetBackup skills
·  Extensive Active Directory Skills and troubleshooting experience
·  Extensive and demonstrable VMware skills
·  Automation/Scripting knowledge and experience – PowerShell/JSON/VBscript/Ansible/Jenkins etc.
·  Excellent oral communication and technical documentation skills
·  A good understanding of cloud services
·  Broad understanding of computing especially on technology evolution

Desirable Skills and Experience:

·  Infrastructure Architecture exposure on large scale deployments, ideally multi country
·  Azure (infrastructure as code)
·  Linux Administration
·  Security (McAffee, Palo Alto, WDAC etc..)
·  MS SQL (secondary skill)
·  Exchange (secondary skill)
·  Wintel Management Tools (SCCM, WSUS etc..)
·  Experience of working within Agile Project Management methods
·  Mobile device management (WorkspaceOne-AirWatch and/or InTune)

Basic Qualifications:
