We are looking for a Linux IT Systems Administrator for the support of enterprise level software applications. Expectation is that you will have a familiarity and knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS with knowledge of AIX Unix also highly regarded. Ideally you will be familiar with configuring and deploying a variety of enterprise application services and developing scripts to automate system administration tasks, with one or more scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ansible or Perl).

Intermediate knowledge of common MPP Databases (Greenplum, Teradata) as well as traditional RDBMS (MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL), particularly when interacting with other applications would also be highly regarded.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise software applications and/or Linux systems; the role will require BAU support as well as participation in an out-of-hours on-call roster for planned work as well as break-fix support. Strong analytical thinking and technical knowledge with good time management skills will ensure success in the role.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Administration and troubleshooting of proprietary Linux/UNIX software applications as part of BAU support, as well as participation in an out of hours on-call roster.
·  Providing secondary database administrative support as required where used by managed applications
·  Responding and resolving incidents, requests and issues raised by customers and system generated alerts while meeting client SLAs for system availability, uptime and reliability
·  Managing request tickets and incidents within an ITIL Service Management Tool
·  Executing application or system changes within approved change control processes.
·  Assisting with system and process documentation.

The ideal candidate will have:

·  3+ years’ experience in an enterprise IT Support role with strong Linux/UNIX administration support experience (Red Hat 6 & 7),  
·  Strong knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
·  Understanding ofprogramming/scriptinglanguages (Bash, Perl, Ansible, Python etc..)
·  Intermediate experience with MPP and RDBMS databases, (Greenplum , SQL, PostgreSQL)
·  Experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise software applications
·  Well-developed troubleshooting, critical thinking and problem solving skills
·  Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
·  Familiarity with IT security best practices and privacy of customer data.
·  A strong self-motivation to learn new skills and technologies
Desirable:
·  Relevant certification such asRed Hat RHCSA/RHCE or relateddiploma, vocational or industry certificate or relevant work experience in a UNIX or Red Hat environment.
·  AIX Unix Administration skills
·  Ideally have broader knowledge across Microsoft server technologies (AD, DHCP, DNS, IIS etc.)
·  Certification in ITIL V3 Foundation
·  All candidates must be Australian Citizens and willing to undertake a Negative Vet 1 security clearance.
