Role Purpose
· Implementation specialist in 3 or more product/technology areas
· Producing design documentation
· Project delivery in key technology areas
· Maintenance and development of the lab environment
· Perform 3rd line Incident management, act as an escalation point and involvement in support cases as required.
· Provide onsite cover where applicable for Managed Service Accounts
· To participate in the on-call rota (1 week in 4)
Key Accountabilities
Principal Tasks
· Design documentation
· Responsibility for the complete installation of core portfolio products
· Handover testing
· Knowledge transfer to customers throughout installation
· Handover documentation and delivery into the support team
· Briefing 1st & 2nd line support on new methods/deployments
· Vendor technical relationships
· Recreating customer issues for escalation cases
· To provide advice, guidance and assistance to other team members
· Interface with project delivery teams as required
· Maintaining product certification in line with core vendor requirements
· Updates to implementation and project governance
Working with others
· Project teams within DI & Xchanging/CSC/DXC
· DI Technical Architect and Pre Sales/Sales teams
· Onsite engineering resources allocated to Managed Service Accounts
· Xchanging and CSC teams in Basildon, London and across the UK
· Core Vendor partners – Extreme, Palo Alto, HP Aruba, Infoblox, & Pulse Secure
· Non-Core Vendor Partners – Juniper, Aerohive, Entrust, Gemalto/Safenet, F5, Bluecoat, A10, Allot
Skills/Experience/Qualifications required to perform the role
Necessary:
· FE/HE level IT related education or equivalent experience
· A minimum of 4 years’ design, deployment and support experience in at least 2 of the Core Vendors
· Palo Alto Networks ACE, ideally PCNSE
· 1 other certification from our Core Vendors list
· Evidence of technical writing skills
· Demonstrable troubleshooting skills
· L2 & L3 networking and security concepts
· Full driving license and access to a car
Advantageous:
· Extreme certification (ECE, ECS)
· Pulse Secure certification (PPS, vADC)
· Aruba ACMA, ACMP, ACMX, ACDP, ACDX, ACCA, ACCP or ACCX
· General technology certifications i.e. CWNA, CompTIA Network/Security+
· Additional Core and Non-Core Vendor Post Sales accreditations
Certifications and/or experience with the following vendors/technologies:
· Palo Alto Networks
· Aruba
· Infoblox
· Pulse Secure
· Aerohive
· Juniper Networks – switching, routing, security
· Load balancing
· Virtualisation
· Bluecoat
· Fortinet
