· Job Description:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
· Responsible for administration of SAP relational Databases (Oracle) and SAP software application products (SAP Business & Enterprise solutions, SAP CRM, or other SAP software solutions).
· Responsible for all aspects of Oracle database administration and operations of large-scale global SAP landscapes.
· Provides strong knowledge of Instance, database and query tuning to improve the performance of the database application including table maintenance performance opportunities.
· Supports standalone databases as well as high availability configurations using Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) software.
· Provides technical support and troubleshoot software application and related database related issues.
· Performs Database technical duties to include general backups, restore, updates, testing, debugging, integration and analysis.
· Plan computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection.
· Assists with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database and application management, security, auditing, maintenance, and utilization.
· Formulate and monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
· Propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the application/database.
· Works on the highest-level customers developing a personal one to one relationship with them.
· Participate in 24X7 production support along with senior members of the Database Services Team.
· Builds tools for customers and internal teams by creating scripts or using software to automate administration tasks.
· Participate in the database on-call rotation.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:
· In-depth knowledge of SAP supported environments; Experienced with complex SAP and non-SAP technical integration and monitoring solutions for SAP applications and platforms.
· Detailed knowledge of supported SAP database server operating systems including Linux, Unix and Windows.
· Strong understanding of indexes, index management, integrity checks, and statistics. Identify and resolve response time issues to meet client performance service level agreements.
· Assist and provide guidance, knowledge, experience and support of SAP Oracle patching and upgrades.
· Expert in troubleshooting performance issues related to the server, database, and application level.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
· SAP environment refresh requests and initiatives.
· Forecasting database growth/space.
· Use of Database Reorg tools (i.e. LiveReorg) and procedures for SAP tables maintenance.
· Expert knowledge of performance tuning at the server, database, and application levels. Expert knowledge in Backup design and support.
· Advanced Programming skills. Experience with application production environments and managing multiple databases.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a directly related field required.
· At the manager’s discretion, a High school diploma/GED high school diploma and 12 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree requirement
· Minimum of 7 years of directly related experience required.
