Role

Vmware Administrator

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain the overall operational quality, service delivery and security compliance within ESS for the ESX infrastructure VMWare ESX farms.
• Liaise with other geographic regions to ensure design and operational consistency
• Provide operational readiness for infrastructure projects and application development projects, ensuring operational acceptance criteria is met.
• Provide operational support coverage and escalation for 24x7 services. Provide emergency support capabilities in terms of resources and skills.
• Deliver operational projects and upgrades to the agreed scope, on time and budget. Ensure that projects satisfy governance criteria. Projects will include software patching and release upgrades.
• Proactively identify areas where more effective operational principals and processes can be adopted.
• Maintain market awareness of new products that could potentially offer improved value to business

Required  Knowledge

• Should be  VCP certified on vSphere and NSX
• Should be well versed with designing SDDC solutions including vSphere, VROPS, NSX and VSAN
• Should have hands on experience on NSX, vSphere, VROPS and VSAN
• Should have experience in Performance troubleshooting on vSphere & NSX
• CCNA certification preferred
• Should be able to articulate well on Hyper converged infrastructure
• Working knowledge of Enterprise Storage Systems (EMC, 3PAR, or similar) and associated features: SRDF, BCV, Powerpath, etc
• Implementation of projects for the upgrade or refresh of enterprise infrastructure
• Strong investigative skills and rigor
• Strong operational process management expertise, experience of ITIL or other IT operations frameworks
• Extensive Knowledge of Physical to virtual (P2V) tool sets and methodologies

Experience Preferred

•Over all Experience of 7 + Years in Vmware
• 3+ years actual Vmware real life experience on  NSX, vSphere, VROPS and VSAN
