As an experienced mainframe COBOL developer, you will be part of a team that has been acknowledged as an industry leader.  You will work in Canada, and help our clients grow their business by providing application development and support services. Skills:

·  Well versed in Mainframe z/OS technology including COBOL, JCL, CA-Endevor, CA-Easytrieve, CA-7, FileManager, VSAM, QSAM, Fault Analyzer
·  Experience with OpenText Exstream or Metavante CSF for MVS preferred
·  Ability to understand and elicit the business requirements
·  Ability to convert user requirements into design and code.
·  Prior experience in incident management, problem management and change management.
·  Good attitude with ownership and accountability traits.
·  Strong analytical ability and troubleshooting skills
·  Strong written and verbal communications
·  Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision or direction
·  Strong testing ability – writing test plans, cases, creating complex test data
·  Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
·  Deals well with ambiguity and last minute changes.
·  Be a self-starter who takes ownership of opportunities they are confronted with during the course of investigation.
·  Demonstrated ability to work effectively either independently or with multiple teams
·  Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills; the ability to analyze/evaluate the information to ensure the best solution is selected
·  Highly organized individual with ability to plan and prioritize work to accomplish end goal
·  Analytical skills-understanding how systems should work and how changes will impact the environment
·  Establishing constructive & cooperative working relationships with others 

Responsibilities:

·  Coordinate and perform testing activities and track results to closure.
·  Support scheduled production jobs, identify failed services and take appropriate action to correct.
·  Participate as a team member to provide application support and development services.
·  Communicate with the client/team regarding any inquiries / issues with the applications you support.
·  Provide proactive and continuous improvements to ensure operations meet customer business requirements.
·  Interact with business clients and solution designers to understand business requirements and high level design specifications, then prepare estimates for development and implementation, and then execute to meet effort and schedule estimates.
·  Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and fulfill application service requests. Ensure that customers are kept informed on the status of their service orders (incidents, service requests, and small enhancements).
