Our technical roles offer you the chance to grow your skills and experience in a multitude of environments and technologies in platforms, micro-services, cloud migrations, CI/CD pipelines, containers, automation, robotics and some of the best Dev Ops Tooling whilst working alongside some of the most talented people inDXC.   

Responsibilities

·  Participating in the development of various infrastructure solutions including Public Cloud eg. Azure and AWS as well as datacenter / private cloud to deliver high availability, rapidly developed, fully automated solutions using predominately open source software which deliver value to the customer.
·  Maintaining awareness on the latest technologies and methodologies and helping with designing and implementing innovative approaches to our customer’s problems using Automation.
·  Gaining an understanding of software standards, being able to learn processes and procedures to ensure maximum re-use and maintaining standards.
·  Ability to identify continuous improvements to both the process and the systems.
·  Understanding security policies and implementing solutions that satisfy the security requirements.
·  Participating in the design and implementation of solutions which have high availability and are scalable.

Skills & Qualifications

Essentials:

·  An interest and aptitude to work in in fast paced DevOps environment
·  2+ years’ experience working in an IT Environment
·  Ability to work with an Agile Team, being able to be self-driven and looking for continuous improvements to both the process and the systems.
·  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
·  Attention to detail with a pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude to work.
·  Ability to learn new skills and technologies

Should have awareness of some or all of the following:-

·  Digital delivery processes and methodologies
·  Configuration management tools, e.g. Ansible (preferred), Puppet, Chef.
·  Build and provisioning tools, eg. Jenkins (preferred), Terraform, Packer,Team City etc.
·  Cloud Environments including AWS, Azure, Google and Oracle cloud.
·  Test Driven or Behavior Driven development, and being able to implement automated test solutions
·  Integrating various products using APIs enabling a joined up automated approach
·  Monitoring systems e.g. ELK, Nagios, New Relic, DataDog, Splunk etc.
·  Docker container hosting including Kubernetes and RedShift.
·  Modern programing languages, understanding at least one of: Bash script, Python, Ruby, Perl, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell

To satisfy our contractual obligations with clients, the candidate will be required to pass additional background checks, so we are looking for UK nationals only.

DXC Office in Chorley is easily commutable from Manchester. Has a train station nearby and is closer to M61 (Junction 28).
