Role Summary:

We are currently hiring Backup Storage Engineer to work at our Galway office. All our candidates require a good level of analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to own and run issues from start and take on the varying requirements of project while being client focused with a high standard of communication and documentation skills.

The successful candidates will provide deep technical support for servers running Redhat Enterprise Linux 6/7, HP-UX and 3PAR storage arrays. Experience of infrastructure, windows, exchange also an advantage.

Key Requirements and Responsibilities:

·  Provide second level technical support, guidance and direction for storage products supported. Resolve problems identified by system administrators or through monitoring software. Investigate, identify and document proposals that will improve application recoverability.
·  Incident and Ticket handling.
·  Participate in testing, upgrades and configuration of system and services. Evaluate and ensure changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; recommend revisions or changes based upon results.
·  Perform operation and maintenance support within a Storage Area Network Enterprise environment.
·  Collaborate with team members on the development and analysis of system standards, thresholds and recommendations to maximize system performance.
·  Provide technical expertise and guidance during project transition into support in order to diagnose and resolve problems and maintain service.
·  Supporting Storage Arrays and SAN switches.
·  Installing, configuring and maintaining storage related hardware.
·  Contributing to design documentation to ensure implementations are completed to a satisfactory and compliant standard.
·  Designing and implementing systems processes and standards.
·  Liaising with other IT support teams and clients where necessary to verify technical solutions and ensure the successful integration of new systems infrastructure.

Preferred strong technical knowledge in:

·  Performance monitoring tools, UnixLinux Server administration.
·  SCSI and Storage technology – Good theory & hands on knowledge.
·  Storage array and SAN switch management – upgrades, reporting, analyzing performance issues.
·  Must have exposure to HDS, EMC or NetApp storage arrays, HP, Avamar, Brocade, IBM Tape libraries or any backup software.

Nice to have but if you do not have it, we'll help train you up:

·  Exposure to Unix, Linux, Wintel.
·  Implementation experience to tight timescales.
·  Experience of IT security.
·  Exposure to scripting through Automation.

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·  Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred.
·  Experience with company products and services, storage protocols, Unix systems in a multi-site environment.
·  Experience working with virtual technologies.

·  Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work and multitask.
·  Good analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems.
·  Good communication skills to communicate with support personnel, customers, and managers.
·  Basic skills in integrating distributed computing hardware and software systems.
·  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·  May require on-call, shift, weekend and evening work.
