Job description



BUSINESS CONTEXT:

·  Danone is a major FMCG company in the UK, with market leading brands across three divisions: Waters (Evian, Volvic), Dairies (Actimel, Activia, Light & Free), Specialised Nutrition (Aptamil, Cow & Gate, Fortisip, Complan).

·  Specialised Nutrition is the newly formed entity bringing together two previously separate divisions, Early Life Nutrition and Advanced Medical Nutrition, offering nutritional solutions with the shared goal of improving the health and well-being of vulnerable individuals, from the first day of pregnancy into old age.

MISSION OF THE ROLE:

·  Managing the process of investigation of and resolution to all logistical claims raised by the customer, working in close association with the CBS team. This will require working closely with Danone’s third party warehouse & logistic providers to ensure all claims are logged correctly and any trends in incidents are identified and corrective actions put in place to prevent recurrence

KEY CHALLENGES:

·  When customer claims are received, ensuring that these resolved quickly to avoid any payment deductions or payments being withheld by the customers
·  Trying to keep the level of open claims down to a manageable level in an operation that works 7 days a week and delivers to customers on 6 of those days
·  Maintaining our customers confidence in the service that we provide them is crucial, therefore identifying any trends in claims and eliminating them from repeating in the future will help build their trust in us
·  Building momentum internally (with customer team & NAMs) to challenge customer behaviours that can drive logistics complexity (and thus costs) up – e.g. MOQs, Goods In checks, fixed booking slots…etc

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·  Track & monitor all claims raised by our customers
·  Claims log issued regularly to the warehouse and transport teams so new claims can be investigated in a timely manner
·  Work with the warehouse and transport team to investigate the claims
·  Track and resolve the claims before the customer deducts any payments
·  Monitor the customer’s returns process to ensure products are returned to and processed by the warehouse team in the agreed timeframe
·  Lead weekly claims call with the warehouse and transport teams to discuss the current status of all open claims
·  Work closely with the transport and warehouse team to devise and implement any action plans to combat the root causes behind the logistical discrepancies
·  Work with all relevant departments seeking constant reduction in customer claims
·  Work with customer team & NAMs in sales to challenge customer behaviours related to activities that affect logistical operations – e.g. MOQs, Goods In checks, fixed booking slots…etc
·  Arrange uplift of products from customers as and when required, this will require closely liaising with the transport provider and the warehouse team
·  Participate in appropriate monthly customer meetings with Finance and Sales to provide insight into performance against cash management and working capital targets
·  Ensure adherence to relevant DANGO controls, and participate in annual audit, owning any necessary corrective actions
·  Monitor and manage reimbursement claims against 3PL providers while maintaining a good working relationship
·  Monitor and manage our CHEP account and relationship with the account manager.
·  This role will require working some bank holidays, on a rota basis in line with the rest of the inventory team

Candidate Profile

·  Systems orientated, with experience of SAP / COGNOS an advantage
·  Skilled with Microsoft Excel
·  Accurate and numerate, with attention to detail to be able to challenge and spot errors
·  Excellent communication skills
·  Knowledge and experience on supply chain & logistics operations - FMCG experience an advantage
·  Strong analytical skills
·  Plans activities in a systematic way; able to think ahead and consider different options to achieve goals
·  Strong relationship building / ability to collaborate both cross functionally and with external stakeholders
·  Acts with speed, agility and pragmatism- driving performance with appropriate sense of urgency
·  Results driven and shows tenacity to achieve a high-quality outcome
·  Conscientious and strong attention to detail
