These past years, Alstom produced the first phase of LRT fleet for Ottawa. Since September 2019, the first 34 trains are in service for Ottawa citizens, and into their Warranty period. In the meantime, Alstom is producing trains for the Phase 2 of the Project and ensuring all Maintenance and Service operations. This is the first project of this kind in Ottawa, therefore a very interesting challenge, with many stakeholders. We are located directly in the train Depot, close to Downtown Ottawa and the province of Quebec, and less than 2 hours drive from Montréal.

In order to accomplish all the targets and challenges we are facing, we are looking for a VIE within the Warranty team.

Network & Links: The VIE will report directly to the Warranty manager and will work with Warranty, Reliability team, Engineering team and Maintenance team

Overall purpose of the role:

The main role is to ensure a proper data flow between the technicians and the Reliability and Engineering teams, through data analysis of the failures, training and support of the field team, and technical follow up

Responsibilities:

-Data quality from the field: ensure a good quality of reporting and feedback from the field

-Data analysis: gathering of data and preparation of reliability measurement, follow up on open technical investigations

-Recording of Warranty information: database follow up for all warranty tasks, training of the field team on the data recording tools

-Configuration Management of LRVs: ensure the good configuration of the fleet in Service, for software and hardware, in cooperation with Configuration Manager

-Monitor Warranty KPI and communication: Preparation of KPI and presentations for the Customers, support to Reliability team for monthly reports

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Engineering or Business school degree

Behavioral competencies:

You are very well organized, you can prioritize your actions in regards of the level of importance/urgency for the company. You have good problem-solving skills and a very open mindset. You like the technic and are willing to work on a complex new design train. Meeting people, communication skills and work in a multi-cultural environment should be also part of your talents.

Technical competencies and Experience:

-Strong experience in a heavy industry on complex projects. -Able to understand technical expertise in several domain (electrical, mechanical, network communication….)
-Able to demonstrate the ability to work in collaboration with other departments (engineering, procurement, projects).
-Significant experience in management or planification.
-Able to work autonomously in data analysis

Rail industry background is highly desirable, alternatively similar industries can also be considered
-Language Skills: English and French Mandatory
-IT skills: Windows, ERP is a plus
-Location: Ottawa, travels in the city only
