Over the last two decades Lhoist has developed a position as leading producer of oxide (lime & dolime) and carbonates (limestone & dolomite) based solutions across a variety of markets, including agriculture. Lhoist has already developed a number of specific applications in agricultural product and applications propositions, spanning from fertilizers, soil conditioning, micro nutrition, biostimulants, to animal feed & animal health.
In order to support the new innovation in crop systematically, a new position within the global Business Innovation Center (BIC) has been created, focusing on the transversal development and aligning the organization to grow the Lhoist offering. In order to drive this new initiative, we are looking to identify an outstanding young talent to assume the role of VIE crop. This individual will report to the Global Application Director Agriculture.

The Role
The VIE crop will be accountable for driving assigned innovation projects (new products, services or applications), support the BIC in advanced technical support to the regions, organizing technical market intelligence, regional marketing & branding.
The role will involve the following:
• Manage the innovation on assigned products – from market intelligence to product introduction: This means assuring that strategic products are managed through the innovation and product introduction process whilst assuring appropriate shareholder management and creating regional buy-in. It also includes continuous assessment in order to meet existing demands and future market requirements.
• Support the BIC in advanced technical support for crop to all Lhoist regions: this will involve providing in-depth technical support to those regions who require it (launching new products & services, technical customer visits, supporting organization of local field trials,…).
• Lead market intelligence for assigned projects: The global application manager will closely monitor global trends in product innovation and marketing as they pertain to animal feed and animal health. This will mean building appropriate information sources (external as well as creating the adequate internal network), organizing the sharing of this intelligence within the group and acting as the global expert.
• Monitor company branding and intelligence: Proposing globally agreed materials for the branded products, providing up to date sales materials to the regions for further local customization, proposing product positioning for innovation projects as they go to market and coordinate any new brand creation within the Group.

Functional Know How
o Max 2 years of similar practical experience in leading agricultural player, related industries or consultancy
o Preferred background in agronomy, crop nutrition, crop protection, seeds
