Your role
We are looking for an engineer who can support manufacturing operations in the areas of process development, tool design, machine programming & layout, machinery & equipment, continuous improvement and other duties associated with engineering support of production.
You will provide direction and technical support regarding equipment design and development, testing of materials, preparation of specifications and operator instructions, process studies, investigations, root cause analysis, problem solving and report or presentation preparation.

The position duties & responsibilities include the following activities:
• Create, review and release risk management and related documentations and activities
• Originate/oversee/assist in the creation & release of change orders (COs) through Agile PLM software
• Plan, schedule and track workstream timelines using appropriate tools
• Schedule and facilitate project status meetings and advise management on project status
• Communicate project implementation options, schedule, quality and risk to stakeholders
• Execute and facilitate the Value Stream Mapping process for all lean initiatives from Customer Service through shipping of product
• Evaluate equipment and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions or inefficiencies
• Utilize DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control), Flow, Pull, Standard Work, Error Proofing, Set-Up Reduction, PMP and TPM methods to close business performance gaps
• Assist Operations Management through collection of production data, analyzing outputs, and determining corrective courses of action to promote safety, quality, and efficiency
• Measure and document progress towards meeting objectives
• Build strong and positive relationships with our clients by working to include them in the improvement activities, making sure their needs and requirements are carefully considered

Your profile
You have at least a bachelor's degree engineering or comparable education and experience in a Lean manufacturing role or in Project Management, ideally in the pharmaceutical/ life science or automotive industry.
You also possess knowledge of the principles and techniques of lean, including (but not limited to) Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, A3 Process, One Piece Flow, Kan Ban Systems and 5S. A Six Sigma green belt or higher is preferred.

Additionally, you bring the following skills to the table:
• Highly developed technical knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD, Visio, etc.)
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and drive urgency
• Track record of successfully completing projects related to Lean and Six Sigma.
