We are currently looking for a Legal intern to assist in the Legal Sales department in Cisco, supporting Service Provider Sector in the EMEAR Theater.
Cisco is one of the biggest technology companies in the world, and it is the worldwide leader in IP technology, making possible the internet as we know it today. Legal Sales is in charge of contract negotiations, advising sales on legal matters and ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
In this position, you will be able to experience complex international negotiations at first hand while seeing some of the most innovative and emerging technologies.You will report directly to the Sr Corporate Counsel responsible for the UKI region, covering several countries, and will assist in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts.


Eligibility:
  • Please note that candidates must be currently enrolled in a master's degree program or post-graduate studies majoring in Law.
  • Proficiency in Spanish (speaking and writing) is a must.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking and writing) is a must.
  • Proficiency in German or French (speaking and writing) is a must.

Legal skills:
  • General knowledge of commercial, contract and business law. (preferably Spanish, specifically contract law; alternatively, English Common Law)
  • General knowledge of intellectual property and antitrust law.
  • The ability to read and understand complex contract provisions in Spanish, English and French or German.
  • The ability to draft language for inclusion in a broad range of contract types (Spanish, English and French or German)

General Business skills:
  • Manage business transactions, with supervision, including meeting deadlines, compliance with Cisco process and effective use of Cisco Playbook and other support materials.
  • Operate efficiently in a highly automated environment heavily dependent on e-enabled tools and communications systems including high proficiency in and effective use of basic desktop applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Have a working knowledge of Cisco's technology and strategic direction.

Daily activities:collaboration on legal projects, drafting and negotiating contracts, assisting the sales teams with routine legal questions and ad hoc assignments provided by the Sr Corporate Counsel
