PhD Student in PharmacoepidemiologyContexteThe Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss University Hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of biology and medicine of the University of Lausanne and the EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in the domains of the medical care, the medical research and the training.
The drug in real life unit is part of the new Centre de Recherche et Innovation en Sciences Pharmaceutiques Cliniques – CRISP. Its research activities focus on how drugs are used once they are on the market and how their use can be improved.
MissionA PhD position is available for an excellent candidate with strong qualifications and high motivation to conduct research in pharmacoepidemiology. The focus of the project is the development of digital tools to improve drug use in pregnant patients.
This interdisciplinary project will rely on the technical skills of engineers from the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland, the expertise in observational data collection of researchers from the Geneva Lausanne School of Pharmacy and on the clinical knowledge of obstetricians and midwifes from the Maternity at CHUV.
You will be in charge of the development of:

a data driven prescription tool aiming to support clinicians in prescribing, dispensing or counselling pregnant women requiring a pharmacological treatment ;
a mobile application dedicated to pregnancy offering information through networking and notifications written by a team of health care specialists throughout pregnancy, and the opportunity to contribute to research through crowd-sourced data collection in sharing anonymously pregnancy follow-up information.
Profil
Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
Ability to tackle complex problems independently and in collaboration
Critical and creative thinking
Hard-working self-motivated mentality
A strong interest in applied research and clinical pharmacy
Previous experience in data analysis and bioinformatics would be an asset
Fluency in English and French
Good organizing and communication skills.
