Chanel Inc., a leader in the luxury good industry is seeking a freelance Visual Merchandiser 2-3 days per week to support our Short Hills boutique location with occasional support for our NY doors.The primary responsibilities of this role are to reinforce visual standards, guidelines and administer an on-going VM presence. In addition, this role will require close partnership with boutique leadership in order to understand business needs and drive sales. This position will report directly to the Regional VM Lead.

Role & Responsibilities:

·  Work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of projects and delivering timely results
·  Manage and facilitate merchandising updates, floor moves and interior mannequin changes with the Boutique team per the guidelines set by the corporate office
·  Style mannequins and implement floor sets with exceptional skill, creating cohesive, exciting fashion stories
·  Communicate effectively with boutique management and motivate selling team to ensure projects are facilitated and maintained successfully
·  Work collaboratively with Corporate VM team to install window décor and interior displays per the direction of the Paris Visual Guidelines. This includes the installation of the décor, graphics, mannequin fashion changes, lighting adjustments, cleanliness of Visual Selling Tools and mannequins, and de-installation
·  Ensure that special display features, such as video screens or LED walls, are running and playing appropriate content
·  Assist in the planning and execution of Boutique Special Events, such as in-store parties, shopping events and other image and business driving initiatives
·  Keep all display materials, mannequins, display POS items neat and organized in the designated storage area
·  Update digital photo files for VM maintenance purposes as changes are made to windows and interior displays
·  Operate as eyes and ears in Boutique regarding maintenance and repairs; bring any issues to the attention of the Ops or VM team.

Qualifications:

·  Associate Degree or higher is preferred
·  Minimum 3-4 years of VM experience in a similar role, preferably with a luxury brand
·  Must have strong RTW and Accessory merchandising skills
·  Be able to balance business needs with Image standards.
·  Should have a passion for fashion and the House of Chanel
·  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
·  Be comfortable with ambiguity
·  Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
·  Work independently as well as with a team
·  Curious and eager to learn
·  Must feel comfortable on a ladder and have the ability to lift 40 lbs
·  Have a flexible schedule in order to work occasional late nights, early mornings, holidays and weekends
·  Professional Insurance Required
