Job description
Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager – Infrastructure is the subject matter expert and overall accountable for the delivery of technical design, the infrastructure specification & configuration of Servers, Corporate Directories, Storage Platforms, Virtual Environment, Backup Solutions and more within our regional, local datacenters and cloud platforms used in Asia Pacific.
This includes technologies, not limited to, such as physical & virtual enterprise grade servers, the virtualization technology, the end to end provisioning and automation, data center integration and management, security relevant configuration & compliance, SAN & other storage solutions, Windows Server Administration and management, On Prem Active Directories, Azure Active Directory, FIM Integration and Configuration, Web Servers, File Servers, Application Servers, Backup Solution, etc.
The Assistant Manager will manage the service delivery from build to run of required infrastructure solutions and is accountable for the entire life cycle (Demand Management, Capacity Management, Strategic Road map, Performance Management, Monitoring, Maintenance & Support).
The Assistant Manager manages our outsourcing partners which will enable the delivery of new and operate the existing solutions while ensuring the required vendor management best practices & operational governance are applied.
The Assistant Manager is the go-to expert for above technologies and solutions which supports CHANEL’s Service Management team, works in close collaboration with all Technology & Digital Services Domains (Application Teams). Local IT Colleagues and Infrastructure teams while providing consulting support to the business directly where required.
The Assistant Manager is responsible to manage budgetary & technology requirements to meet current and future needs.
Key Responsibilities
· Life cycle Management for accountable Infrastructure Services (Demand, Capacity Mgmt. & Strategic Technology Roadmap)
· Vendor Management (Outsourced Managed Services)
· Solution Architecture of accountable infrastructure services
· Build & Run of accountable infrastructure services
· Compliance of accountable infrastructure services (legal, regulatory and security related compliance)
· Continues Service Improvement
Project Delivery
· Be able to manage orchestrate and manage infrastructure projects
· Contribute to relevant infrastructure projects in local markets
· Advice on 3rd party vendors and proposed solutions, propose alternatives
Audit
· Support the response to internal & potential external auditors
· Own and follow up on auditor’s findings on a timely manner
· Define audit remediation activities according to the severity of the findings
Academic / Professional Qualifications
Mandatory
· Undergraduate Degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field
· Certifications in VMWare (VCP)
· Certifications in MCP
· ITIL v3 Foundation or higher
Preferred
· Azure/AWS certification
· BPPM, Prince 2 or equivalent
· Citrix certification
Work Experience
· At least 7+ years hands on experience in designing, engineering and operating Servers, Directories and Storage technologies, preferably within a larger international enterprise
· Experienced in defining and delivering infrastructure projects
· Working in Virtual Teams
· Experienced in Managing Outsourcing Partners
· Experienced in delivering technical solution architectures for on premise and cloud solutions
· Experience in budgeting
Functional/Technical Expertise
· Technical Expert of Server, Storage, Directories and Cloud solutions in the market
· Technical Expert Knowledge of VMWare, EMC, Hyper-converged infrastructure, Citrix and Enterprise backup solution
· Solid experience on MS Windows server administration, automation and patch mgmt.
· Solid experience on VCenter and server infrastructure monitoring tools
· Solid experience in applying standard security configurations and tools
· Solid knowledge working with cloud computing; preferably AWS, Azure
· Solid knowledge of PowerShell
· Good knowledge of Core Infrastructure, Security & Network Fundamentals
