An opportunity has arisen for a Vulnerability Analyst to join the Server Management team, based in South Wales.

Technical Services currently supports in excess of 6000 Windows, 3000 Unix based servers, hundreds of Databases, petabytes of storage and thousands of network devices and links, throughout the UK, both internally for CGI and within a number of clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Vulnerability management is the process of staying on top of vulnerabilities so the fixes can be more frequent and effective. Vulnerabilities in need of fixing must be prioritised based on which ones post the most immediate risk to the network. Almost anything can become a vulnerability and thus a liability to network security. Things like unpatched operating systems, or programs and apps running old software versions are common vulnerabilities, as are siloed applications plugged into a modern network.

The purpose of this team is to identify those vulnerabilities using our vulnerability scanning tool and work with all teams to ensure that the vulnerabilities are remediated quickly and with no impact to our clients.

This is a key role that needs a reliable, resourceful person, capable of showing initiative, with the appropriate skills and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently when required.

Staff are required to follow standard procedures which are regularly audited to maintain external quality standards accreditation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, as they will be required to liaise with colleagues from various parts of the CGI business; has an interest in Security and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Full training will be given

Experience or a keen interest in Server based technologies is desirable though not essential for this role.

Desirable skills include knowledge of the following;

- Windows Server 2008/2012/2016

- Solaris

- Redhat

- Microsoft Active Directory

- Qualys or equivalent vulnerability scanning tool
