Technical Writer

Position Description
CGI Federal has an opening for a technical writer that will be responsible for creating a variety of technical documents, management reports and manuals, explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner, and working with project management and team members to ensure accuracy of document content.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Create, organize, enhance, write and edit technical and managerial status reports
• Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to produce/edit internal and client deliverables

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience
• Ability to work well with a team of analysts, testers, application developers and project management staff including the ability to take content provided by the technical team and build customer-ready documents around the content.
• Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for technical and non-technical audiences and be skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
• Ability to summarize technical information and produce summary status and management reports
• Captures meeting minutes/notes and distributes electronically as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong proficiency with MS Office applications, have excellent grammar skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies a plus
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence a plus
